Okay, I'm feeling like something is amiss in the universe! I am very rarely the first to post. It's usually one of the early risers or a more eastern time zone. Hope everyone is okay.

Scale is exactly where it was yesterday. That is fine. I am not set on losing anything this week. I'm taking the non stress approach and listening to my body as much as possible and also listening to a few indulgent thoughts. (Yesterday I had a bunch of cashews - usually a nut I stay away from, but yesterday I was given a couple of pounds of cashews by a friend who picks them out of her mixed nuts because she doesn't like them! Her loss - my gain!) I also saw that I still had about 3/4 of my dad's Christmas Stollen in the fridge and had a slice of that. Stollen is a sweet German Christmas bread (sort of a redeemed fruit cake) and is a once a year family tradition.

Planning a bike ride with Ron today and then going out to a movie (I'm thinking Joy). Yesterday was a trainer session for my workout. He killed me. Seriously, my legs were rubberized, by breath was fast, and it took me 15 minutes on the treadmill to feel "normal" again. I know this is a good thing, but whew, that boy gave me an azzzz kicking yesterday. We did TRX squats to chest flies, medicine ball slam down squats, low bar sled pushing with 135 pounds, side step stair hop/squats with 4 steps and medicine ball swings, chest presses at 100 lbs, and ended with ab work. But I DID IT! That's what counts. No way 4 years ago I could have come close to doing all that and lived to tell! LOL!

Happy Hump Day!

well up a half today. probably due to my double socks from a chilly night. hubby gave me a microwavable neck warmer and its great to take to bed.

Yikes K, reading about your workout makes me tired. but good for you for doing this.

Sunny day, dogs may get a walk.  got some extra steps in yesterday by walking deposits to the bank and other errands.  Planning to watch a couple of bowl games this weekend with a friend who has no tv and wants to see a couple of them.  Thats about the extent of our excitement for new years. We never go out and party.  We are old fuddy duddies.     diane

Good Afternoon-

Everything's great with this eastern early riser. I had an early appointment with the State Teachers' Retirement System. I will be retiring on 12/31/16 ! All of the numbers work out !  After that, I had an appointment for highlights and low lights, and a cut.  I was down another .4 to 147.8. Going out to dinner tonight and have planned in a glass of wine.

I have been thinking a lot about target ranges and rigid rules versus deliberate guidelines, in light of all of the reading I've been doing. "Refuse to Regain" , "It Was Me All Along", and "Intuitive Eating" are first and foremost in the thoughts they have provoked.

I am still working out some kinks, but would like to begin 2016 with more of the pieces in place, in my approach to maintaining. It will absolutely be a work in progress with many forks in the road. I'm so grateful to all of you !

Congrats on your retirement date! That is very exciting. I'm looking at June of 2025 or possibly 2024 (depends if they keep the age formula the same. They are talking about changing it and if they do that means I'd be eligible for full age benefits in 2024). Isn't it fantastic that you'll start that next section of your life fit and healthy!

We are all works in progress - no matter where we are! Something to think about, no?

Devon, looks like we posted at the same time, as I also started a thread and they both say 2 hours ago.  Yours wasn't there.  Strange, huh?!  :)  I like your post more than what I started with, which was almost nothing, as my brain was not in gear.  I got tired just reading about your workout, and I thought my PT session yesterday was a lot!  :)

Hello to the 2 Dianes!  Sounds like things are going well.  I am so jealous of your impending retirement, but so happy for you Diane O!

Have a great rest of the day!

Mary

127.4 (I think - this morning was so long ago). Full day of work and then I met with a tattoo artist about getting my first tatt! The tattoo is my gift to myself for getting to goal - it has been a long time coming. I was able to get a full 45 minutes on the treadmill at lunch time today so I don't have to do that tonight.

No plans for New Years. I guess I'm a fuddy duddy too!
