Saturday December 12th

I was up way too early for a Saturday. One puppy was barking downstairs and the other was scratching at the bedroom door wanting to join me in bed (we have 2 Yorkie Poos).

Scale was the same.......until I took my leg bandages off then I was down 1.2 lbs. Yay! 127.8 today, below goal. I was finally able to shower - felt like Heaven! Legs are all bruised and ugly looking but that is to be expected.

I will venture out of the house for the first time in a week today. Oldest son has a Young Men's Choir concert and then we will go out for Chinese. Middle son turns 16 tomorrow and he wants to go to Pizza Ranch. At least they have a salad bar there. I have not been to a buffet type of place since surgery (no point really) and at first I was just going to stay home but I want to be there for the birthday boy. Plan on making good choices - might have a bite or two of pizza but mostly salad with ham on it (or chicken if they have that as a choice). At least I don't have to make a b-day cake - he will just eat the dessert at the restaurant.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Well Paula you're definitely on the mend and good riddance to the bandages!  That first shower must have been heaven on earth :-)

I'm still at 114. Had pizza last night and I really enjoyed it. Yum. So that put me slightly over in calories but I felt I could it because I was still under for the week. Still tracking my food in mfp until I confirm my calorie levels again. I think it's worth the small effort it takes for now. Again not likely to continue to do that after I've confirmed where I'm at, but I absolutely love having mfp available when I need it.

I really feel tracking in MFP helps me a lot. I can easily see if my carbs are too high (and they usually are), if I am getting enough protein (which I do) and if I have calories to spare or not. If I am going out to eat, I can pre-enter the foods I think I might want and see if they fit into my days plan. I like to track my exercise as well - even though I am careful to not eat back those calories, been there done that with past weight loss efforts and it wasn't pretty!

How tall are you? The one-teens seem so tiny to me! ; )

I think I'm a little shorter in stature than most here at 5'2".  Normal BMI weight range for me is 101-136 so my BMI is 21-22 at this weight. A Dexa Scan indicates I'm on the 90th percentile body fat level (on the chart you provided awhile back) so I'm lean but still within range. I like to keep my weight at 112-115 but likely could not drop below 110 and have a healthy level of body fat.

Realistically, I could go to 125 but I'm going to stay as lean as I can for as long as possible.

You are shorter! Sounds like you are right where you should be! BMI charts give such a huge range and we all know % body fat is what is more important! I would love to get hydrostatic weighing done and see where I am at.
