well here is one of many items i found on this subject of how fast weight is gained. most were pretty crummy but this one made some sense. didn't really have an answer but discussed the complexity. still a mystery to me but helps to know why two dove bites didn't do anything but a slice of pizza made me gain a pound. diane

Thanks for the link. Good read. All stuff I knew, but it was good to be reminded. I understand the trend thing and it is a much more reliable indicator than a daily trend. My overall trend is headed downward and not too slowly either, if I'm honest, but of course, slower than I'd like it to be - if that makes sense.
Dr. C gave me a goal, which I was able to achieve. I'm hoping to keep up the same rate of loss, though that may be unrealistic, for the next three month block. To keep up that same pace I'd have to lose 15 pounds in about 9 weeks. Ummm, probably not going to happen.
This up down losing pattern is new to me. I have always been a steady loser on any "diet", so the plateaus or pauses and dips followed by a rise are absolutely foreign territory. Perhaps this is weight loss after 50! LOL!
Anyhow, no harm, no foul. I've been on track all day - even when the visions of a spoon full of frosting and gingerbread men danced in my head!
Good afternoon! I have tried to post for much of the afternoon, but every time I tried to open up the discussion, the header was there, but nothing else. I was fianally able now to open it up. Go figure!
Scale was down .3 this morning surprisingly. Yesterday the food that I ate was very high in sodium and my ankles reflected that last night. I figured the scale would be up.
I want to say how much I'm enjoying the discussions of late. It's great having some new folks on board and getting many different perspectives to ponder about. Thanks all!
Have a great evening everyone!
