Good morning everyone. Where are you Kame and Ocean??? Miss your comments? Please join us!
And a warm welcome to the Christmas tree light show! I bet they were/are going to be spectacular!
And not to be outdone we have two trees.
One is a small one to be decorated by a four year old when she arrives. The ornaments are usually clustered in one spot and are at her height level. It is always the more beautiful of the two.
A great day both food and walking. Scale does not agree. Still hanging in there.
Enjoy Wednesday. Weekend is on the horizon. Yay and Yay! Stores here are beginning to be nuts.
Has anyone been to OE Anon?
Morning peeps. Scale backed off a couple of pounds to 113 after I took in more water. I really need to watch that. I'm feeling in control again and most days am having no difficulty staying at 1200 calories. Still want to see what the scale does over time before increasing.
Christmas lights were a bust. Started to put them up and half the clips fell off and each string was actually slightly different in color! What a bunch of cheap crap. Took them off so will grumpily return them and continue the quest when I have time.
Off to work for a few hours. Paula, stay off your feet! (Said with love)

Carbon, I have been to OA (Over Eaters Anonymous). I went to one group that was very militant. It was a group that espoused a very specific diet (I forget the name, but it's a recognized sub group of OA). I did not fit in with that group. I then went to another group that was much more supportive and realistic. I liked it, but in this particular group there was an Anti WLS attitude so I was never fully comfortable sharing my whole story, so I didn't continue after a few sessions. I know Tracy D. is very involved with her local OA. You might PM her for more info.
Had a day of sticking to plan, with some freedom to go to the local taqueria and get the carne asada plate. I have enough for three full protein meals. Gotta love that.
Great workout yesterday. Did a full HIIT circuit followed by a 2.0 mile interval training on the elliptical. Kept my heart rate up in the upper 140s for a full half hour, which for an "old man" is pretty damn good!
Scale reflected what's going on in my food and exercise life and I'm down another .5 putting me at another new low weight. It dawned on me just now that I'm well over half way to my to my original "get back to goal range weight" (the white jean/white tank weight) and more than halfway to my new adjusted
Congratulations, Kairk ! You've got this !!

I'm back in happier territory! Listening to Christmas music while my students are in reading lab; trying to get my head together for this afternoon:) Andy's Christmas concert was fabulous. I'm biased, of course. We had a great evening.
Tonight, I'm working out with my trainer. I need to make spicy pretzels to pass out to teachers and support staff and bake something for the Christmas Party on Thursday. I'm thinking Black Bean Brownies.
Carbon, never attended OE Anon. I've read some of their stuff, though. They have on-line groups and groups on FB.
Paula, take it easy!
Have a great day ALL!
Hi All! I opened up this group yesterday morning, got pulled away, and then was helping all day at our agency's annual holiday dinner for the people we support, and never got back. My weight both yesterday and today was the same as its been. Food has been ok, but not great, so it's no surprise not much is moving, Today, leftovers from the dinner are in the room next to me, and I have been smelling turkey stew all day! I did eat some, but kept it to high protein, lower carb things. I started guzzling water so I couldn't eat, and the bathroom has been beckoning a lot! :)
Kairk, you're thinking of the Gray Sheet faction of OA. Oh how I hated the how militant that group was, and felt so shamed and demoralized by them, though many did have success. I think their success and the fact that I continued to struggle, made me hate the group even more, which looking back was my issue, not their's. I was lucky to find othergroupss that shared my philosophy. I did try OA again, briefly after WLS, but did feel like I had to defend my choice of having had WLS - not sure if it was the group or just my own sense that they were disapproving. Although I don't attend OA, much of what I learned there has helped me in my journey of self discovery, so it was invaluable. As far as OE Anon, I know of it's existence, but not much more. Sorry Carbon.
Glad to hear from everyone. Paula, I hope your legs heal quickly!
Take care and have a great day all!
Mary
Hi fellow maintainers. well i am up a half thanks to the demon. the demon being midnight spoon of peanut butter. if only we could get a couple jars of skippy to all the starving people in the world. i am going to buy some for the food bank.
Paula take care of those legs! ow, must be no fun.
I really gotta get moving. What did it take to get you guys up and exercising? Its the thing I hate the most. Always have. I am a slug. diane
I am like you that it takes me time to get moving, but once I do I like how I feel afterwards. Hard exercise does give me the endorphin rush people talk about. I just plain feel good when I'm done. It also helps me stay on track with food. There is something about vigorous exercise that makes me not want to indulge in off plan foods. It's the "why ruin a good work out with a Pumpkin Cinnamon Bite from Peet's when I get my coffee" mentality.
Do you eat plain old fashioned natural PB or the Skippy stuff? I have a spoon of PB every night before bed. It's a routine I enjoy and I track and log the calories. A tsp is only 33 calories. A whole TBS (which is a lot for me) is 100. Stick to a tsp and it's negligible. If you use the Skippy type, it's a whole different ball of wax - sugar, extra oil, etc...Not good IMO.
