Goal!
Finally, Goal has been reached! I saw it a few weeks ago on my Mom's scale when I was visiting her in FL but had not yet seen it officially on my own scale! Eight months and 2 days since surgery! Just over 112 lbs. lost since pre-op diet started in January. Yippy! I couldn't be more thrilled. Now the real hard work starts.....staying here!
Paula
Congratulations Paula!!! What a wonderful feeling it is to reach goal!
The scale was down 1.7 lbs this morning, which felt great. My calories yesterday were right around 1300. Carbs were somewhere between 70-80, and protein was a bit over 100 g. Still going to strive for 1200 or less calories, but it's definitely going in the right direction.
It's a mild rainy day here, but the sun is supposed to come out this afternoon. Tonight is my 5th grader's chorus concert, so it will be a busy day/evening. Have a great Thursday!

Good morning everyone:
Congratulations Paula! Very very nice!
And good for your Mary as well.
Thank you everyone for your kind words re: semi-retirement. I had a good THINK yesterday and realized that scheduling is up to me. That it is not going to fall from the sky.
At the same time I want to be not so locked into a routine that I miss the flowers if you know what I mean.
Scale not budging but it was much much better day with calories at 1110. Walking was 11,980 steps.
Today after the walk in the howling and raging wind and rain ( the weather man has put advisories up for both ) am meeting a friend for tea, going to clean out a box of papers that are from family members who died over 20 years ago and tackle a cupboard that I don't want to tackle.
Am also volunteering to man a Salvation Army kettle this evening in the coldest place in Christendom. My goodness it was cold there on Monday evening. Am going to take a ho****er bottle for my hands. I asked the fellow who is organizing it why we could not go in to the store and he said that no one had ever asked about it before. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess too they would have to get permission from the store.
I seem to remember in my youth that the Sally Ann's would stand in the driving snow with the kettles and my whining about being cold makes me feel like a total wimp.
Happy Thursday everyone.
Congrats on goal Paula! That's wonderful. So glad to have you with us here too. And good work everyone. This place is so helpful to me!
i survived the out of town day with no real damage. Always glad to get back to choosing my own food though. I'm at 113 today.
Have a great day!

Paula, I left you a message on the main VSG board....
I, too, had a nice message from my scale! I'm down another .4, which makes me very happy! New low...
Linda, I can not thank you enough for your post about being deliberate. Your post coupled with a resurgence of personal determination has really sparked a flame. I have planned and logged my food for the day and have given myself protein options for my dinner. One option puts me right at calories for the day, the other leaves me 170 calories to play with, which I may appreciate.
Calories were low yesterday, though carbs were up to 80. No carbs came from refined foods - just dairy and veggies and fruit. Funny, I used to consume hundreds of grams of carbs each day and think nothing of it. Now I'm eating so low carb in comparison to most people and I want to go even lower. Ha! The life of a low carber!
Gym scheduled for this afternoon. (my deliberate choice for the day...)
Happy Thursday, everyone!
