Good morning! Scale up just a tad again today. Not sure why, but I have a feeling it might be due to some swelling on my leg.
Blue was a defiant and naughty girl yesterday. She was so naughty, in fact, that it pissed me off and I was determined to not let her get away with being deliberately defiant. So I sort of chased her at a quick walk to get her inside. I was in the lower yard and Blue was making her way up to the upper yard and I tried to cut her off by leaping up on to the retaining wall. I made it up, but my foot slipped on a bit of mud and I landed on my shin. I landed with such force that I was immediately worried about a break - it hurt quite a bit. I realized very quickly it wasn't a break and finally got the dog inside and in her crate after a good lecture! I lost skin on the shin and it's still swollen and tender this morning.
Have the day free and am excited about that! Going to get a few things done around the house and we'll put the tree up this afternoon. Last year I was so busy before Christmas I didn't get the tree up until just days before and it was stressful. This year I'm determined to have the time to do things at a leisurely pace.
Oh, here's a link to another article I received this morning about Omega 3s. http://authoritynutrition.com/17-health-benefits-of-omega-3/
Off to enjoy the beautiful sunny and crisp day.
Happy Sunday my friends :-)
We slept late (a rare thing!) I'm still lounging around. A nice day.
I can hardly believe it but I'm down another pound to 112! That's my happy weight that I've not been able to hold at since last December. Again I think it's partly due to this week's GI troubles, but I do sense that my body has finally decided to be open to losing weight again. Will see what the next few days brings!
The fish oil dilemma is an interesting one for sure because it seems the jury is still out on whether supplementation makes a difference. If my HDL was low I might try supplementing for six months and then decide if my HDL had improved enough to warrant the extra calories.

That's the crazy maker! I supplemented and my HDL was stable above 40 for over a year - just around 48. Then the last blood draw it came back at 38! WTF?!?!?!?!?! I switched back to Nature Made vitamins (rather than the Costco brand) because there is no artificial crap in that vitamin hoping it might make a difference. Late January will be the 6 month mark for the switch so I'll request a draw at that time. My doc is really good about that. I guess I'll make a decision once I see if the switch and increase makes any difference.
Wtf indeed! I think your approach is a good one because you will be able to see if the 'quality'of the supplement actually mattered. Then you can decide whether it's worth so many extra calories.

hi all, well the guests are gone and hopefully life will get back to normal. up a half today. gotta get rid of about 3 lbs to be in the happy spot. gotta get moving. too many events have kept me from doing much of anything. gallery sit this afternoon so maybe i will walk in circles around the place.
Interesting about the omega 3 stuff. i take fish oil as my overall cholesterol is high but my hdl is as high or higher than the ldl so doctor not worried. but that has not always been true. hdl used to be low so i credit it to the fish oil. but cripes who needs more calories. i was looking a chewable vitamins but the gummy ones have 30 calories. my chewable calcium has 10 per tablet but i am supposed to take 8 a day! so i choke down the horse pills.
K , dogs are dangerous creatures! Pretty hard to out run. take care of that leg.
In our gag gift exchange, i have brought a crocheted toilet paper cover that looked like a poodle.
have a good day. diane
Scale the same at 132.0 this morning. Tried to exercise this morning but got a belly ache with it so stopped after about 20 minutes and the pain resolved right away. I think I might have some gallbladder problems brewing. Had to go the ER at the beginning of the month for severe upper abdominal pain that woke me up and then the next week, every time I exercised I got belly pain. The pain finally went away but back again today with exercise. I'm going to try exercising again in just a bit to see if I can tolerate it now.
Hope everyone has a great week!
