food was great and walking continues.

The bear situation seems to have levelled out somewhat, still trotting along jingling away with the bear bell at 7am.

I have a number of hardened hikers friends who say that they haven't seen any in the back country.

Well no, because they are all down here.

"Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" is going through my brain now. :) We had something get into our trash the other nioght, but don't know what. Bears where we are aren't commonly seen, but have been occasionally over the years. We're hoping it was racoons though. Stay safe Carbondated!

Food was not as clean as I would have liked last night - some grazing going on. So far today it's been good, but my mind has been on food a great deal of the time. I'm having a tough day, recovery wise. Historically, I tend to want to eat when not feeling well. My leg is achy and I have no energy. I have to go to meet with a guardian to get some paperwork signed, and then I'm going home to rest. It's cold and rainly here, so that it impacting on how I'm feeling as well. It's supposed to be a good weekend, though - fingers crossed! Have a geat day! Mary

Hmm bears. I once did a sculpture of raccoons eating out of a trash can. maybe time to do some bears.

126 today. finally a tad of progress. lots to do but at least its a nice calm day. yesterday was a madhouse of people after me to do stuff so today i am hiding out.

yesterday at costco i was wrestling with a case of bottled green tea for our gallery. could barely lift it. several women offered to help me. jeez i must look like a pathetic old lady. my hands have gripping issues but i need to get some upper body strength.

Am a happy boy. Down 17 pounds now. Happy dance time!

Good food day yesterday. I seem to have a routine down that is working very well for me: Protein shake first thing, then yogurt and berries with nuts at 10:00, Lunch at noon (3 oz protein, 1/4 cup veg, 2-3 TBS of a whole grain starch), Protein snack between 3 and 4, nuts around 6, then dinner about 8 and finally another yogurt at 10. Yup, seems like I'm always eating, but it's working and calories are pretty steady around 1250-1300.

Have dog shows and a dog club meeting this weekend. The woman hosting the dog club meeting is a caterer and makes the most delicious foods! Have to make a plan for dealing with that. I'm hoping that my motivation to get to 20 pounds lost will keep me on track (or at least not too far off track!)

Am truly hoping that Blue earns her championship this weekend. Fingers crossed. Then it's on to obedience for that little devil!
