Sleeve Twist???
I think I had a sleeve twist Friday night. Could it be?
I had all of the symptoms of having over ate my sleeve, however, I did not over eat. I had one Laughing Cow Cheese wedge on two slices of cucumber, with a teaspoon or so sunflower seeds, late, before bed. I had skipped dinner, hadn't eaten in hours, and didn't want to go to bed starving so I had the quick snack before brushing my teeth and heading to bed. Minutes later, I was overtaken by bad chest pains. I actually thought I might be having a heart attack, it was so painful. It felt like I needed to burb but could not. It felt like a huge weight was on my chest. It was hard to sit down or lay down. Standing up was the only option. This included bad indigestion. This went on for 3 hours. I finally vomited once, and then 30 minutes later again. My mouth had filled with saliva several times before, yet I was unable to vomit. I don't vomit easily (sorry tmi). I finally got a break from the chest pain at 2am.
I contemplated going to the ER to get an ultra sound, or something, but my husband was out of town and my son was sleeping, and I didn't want to wake him. So I decided to wait it out.
Prior to this happening, I had spent the evening at an outdoor game in a stadium. It was freezing. I was dressed appropriately, but I shivered, for 2 hours. The long, windy, walk to the car made me even colder, and I shivered until my teeth chattered and it took a long time for me to get warm again. Could this have made my sleeve twist?
The goodnews is that I felt fine in the morning and I was able to drink my protein shake, no problem, food was accepted fine since.
Could I have twisted and untwisted my sleeve?

I have no idea what this is, but I've had it a couple of times myself. Very recently, I ate some popcorn - duh -, which is something I've rarely done since surgery and I thought I might die. Started out as feeling 'full' but over several hours grew to be an increasingly sharp pain. I think it was about 10 hours in total, which frightened me. But just like you, it ended and that was it.
Mind you, I've had similar incidents over the years pre-surgery, so not sure it's related to that for me. But interestingly, I've always described it as some sort of GI 'twist' too.

Not a twist. Gastric torsions require surgical intervention. In horses and dogs it's called bloat. It's fatal when not treated. Had you had a true torsion you'd be either dead or in the hospital recovering from surgery.
Sounds to me like a really bad case of the slimeys. I've had similar as you, even without eating too much at all. The first time I got it was from eating about 4 baby carrots. The second time was months and months later and I over ate without realizing it. I was in utter pain and I don't vomit either. IT took hours and hours before I felt okay. I had all that slimy crap in my mouth and eventually started to regurge, but never vomited.
If you were terribly stressed by the cold, it is possible for your sleeve to contract and make eating anything difficult. The contraction is a normal reaction to stress. that's why many people can't eat when they are upset.
Wow, could be. I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it. I was told, after having ultrasounds, for a liver cyst, that I have sludge and stones in my gall bladder but I thought that I never had experienced had symptoms. . This could have been my first symptom. I will google gall bladder attacking and investigate more. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Have you had another attack? Did you have it removed?
I have my well women visit coming up in May. I guess I will discuss it with her. Life is too busy right now for a lap procedure, but I don't want to go through that "attack" again. Just glad I was in my home. Being on a plane and experiencing that, sounds frightening!
Thanks for sharing.
