VSG Maintenance Group
So I feel I can post here now
I am almost two and a half years post VSG and almost one year post first round of plastics and 9 months post round 2 (and basta!) and I have been maintaining the same weight for about a year now give or take a pound. It really does not fluctuate much at all so I think I am well into maintenance mode. I have lurked in this group practically since the first month or so after my VSG but now I feel like I can make a post now and then since I have been 'successfully' maintaining for a while. So far, and I know, I know, this is not complacency talking and I am aware of the multitude of slippery slopes all around me and in my desk drawer for example... but so far it has been 'easy'. I have good restriction but also I feel like I can eat what I now consider to be a normal portion without discomfort either way - too full or too empty. Really just right on 3 oz of protein and some veggies.
So hi all! I 'know' a lot of you from the VSG forum so nice to hang out here with you all also.
Hi Julia! You certainly are in maintenance and congrats on all of your success! I used to post here, then got complacent, whi*****luded drifting away, and gained a few pounds back. I just started posting here again yesterday, even though I'm not yet back at my goal weight. I still feel I'm in maintenance, in the sense that my bit of regain and working toward losing it is part of my personal maintenance. Looking forward to hearing more from you. This is a great group!
welcome to maintenance and looks like you are doing well at it. everyone is welcome to post here regardless of their stage. we can all learn from each other.
yeah the first year was pretty easy for me and its still not a major struggle. but after year 2 or 3 sometimes its easy to slack off. so get in the habit of avoiding the slippery slope stuff. diane
I'm happy to have you here, Julia! I need all the help I can get with this maintenance thing. My opinion is that this is the most challenging aspect of this journey - or at least it has been that way for me in the past, so I am anxious to learn all I can about the subject. So - thank you for participating and sharing!
