VSG Maintenance Group
It's been a long time!
i am 4.5 years out & was on OH regularly for about the first year and a half and then got busy with life! Glad to see some familiar faces since I wasn't sure if others had left. The web site is very different and I can't find any of my saved posts. Did they remove that feature?
I have gained about 5 lbs from my lowest weight & while I'd love to lose those 5 I don't stress over it & since I have maintained this, I'm very satisfied. I don't crave chocolate or other sweets but now it's peanut butter! At least it's healthier!
i have a sister & niece that are both planning to have VSG after trying various diets, losing, and gaining it back. So I've encouraged them to join the website for tips. Glad to be back!
Welcome back! Sounds like you've done an excellent job of maintaining your weight too! I find that checking in here with a weight is very helpful in keeping me on the straight and narrow. And I get great advice here when I need it.
Hope to see you from time to time

I so love to hear from those who are a distance out from surgery, so I hope you keep checking in here. I am just over a year out from my surgery and have finally hit the phase that I am ready to maintain, so I LOVE to hear when people have been able to do that for an extended period of time. That is my biggest worry - that I won't be able to do that.
This is the only time I lost weight & kept it off by totally changing my eating habits. I have stayed low carb out of necessity because sugar is so addictive for me. I was afraid if I fell off my low carb, I couldn't get it under control again. I do occasionally have a bite or two of something sweet but I don't crave it!
I really have that feeling that this IS that lifestyle makeover that I've always needed. I was READY to make it when I decided to have this surgery, and that was part of my criteria for actually following through with the surgery. I have to make the change, but the sleeve has sure helped me have that extra impetus I needed to do it. I do things very differently today than I did a year ago, and I plan to keep it that way! I stay pretty low carb too, and will always go back to that if I ever feel like I struggle to stay where I need to be weight-wise. I have felt, as well, that I do best if I stay away from white flour and sugar, so that has been one of my techniques. I didn't eat it at all for a long time. Now I will on occasion, but it is not part of my daily diet. Keep rocking on, and I will do my best to stay on that path as well!
