Happy Turkey Week!
Back after an intense couple of weeks that included 2 bike races >100 miles (one I crashed, one I did well) lots of travel and calorie burning but more eating in restaurants than I care to do.
Weight remains 188... Now that my cycling season is over it is time to cut calories and work on some other strength areas.

122. well today is the big trip to the grocery store to buy all the junk for thanksgiving , much of which i won't eat. we will only have six people so i think i will just do a turkey breast in a bag. yuck, hate grocery shopping anymore. fortunately, the visiting nephew likes to cook and will help. diane
well my plan is about like yours. eat a little of all the good stuff, indulge a bit on a slim piece of pie, not make a boatload of food so there will be just the right amount of leftovers - enough to feed the nephew for a couple of days and then be done with it. then back to normal, whatever that is. diane
I met with the counselor and the PA on Saturday. We talked about Thanksgiving. The advice I received - even though I'm on the WL plan - was to go as easy on the carbs as possible and have only 1 serving for dinner (which for me will be 3-4 oz of Turkey and about a total of 1/2 cup of sides). I was then instructed to have one dessert. LOL! Couldn't believe it, but hey, I'll be following the doctor's orders (well, at least the PA's)!
Though that was truly the advice I got, I also am planning to make sure that I eat normally during the day - no skimping or stock piling calories for later. Thanksgiving is only one meal and really ought to be about family, friends, and remembering for what we are truly thankful. I'm so grateful for my sleeve and the research on obesity that if I remember those two things all day long, I know I will do okay. I won't be perfect, but I will do well.
Oh, I will be sugar free that day. End of subject. NO SUGAR.
Thanks, Devon! I'm thinking my plan was not so far off after all. Although, I will have a dessert with sugar..my Mom is making Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Cheesecake!!! I have TWO Thanksgiving dinners...however, my in laws will not be as difficult because it's not my Mama's cooking!!!
The scale has been a real ***** lately!!!! She just doesn't move like she did before. Cleaner earring...moving more! And, I will.
We can do this!!! You're lucky to still have the support of your surgeon's office:). Thank you for sharing their advice!
It's been a long time, and I've been so far off track I may have forgotten where the track is. Sigh... So, I'm dragging my butt back here for some extra motivation to stay on course through the holidays. I know no sugar is the key for me, the trick is sticking to it. I've been back on track for 16 days now, and I have a good plan for Thanksgiving, I have some great modified recipes that help keep me from being tempted by the "real" traditional recipes I make for my husband.
