Joining and in need of feedback

Good Morning,

I haven't been on OH in a while and thought of course this would be the best place for me to go to get back on track. I had my surgery in 2011 and have had a total regain of 25 pounds. I have luckily kept very active but am having the on again off again relationship with Carbs. I am looking forward to releasing these pounds again. Funny how one forgets where they started to return there again! Any feedback would be awesome.

I know where you are, MsM.  I'm right there, too, fighting the carbs.  Darn carbs and sugar!

Welcome back!

Rule 1: The first rule of getting on (or back on) track is Food logging.

Rule 2: When in doubt, see rule 1.

The brain tries its best to lie, cheat and manipulate us into eating more of what it wants.  The antidote is to write everything down.  I'm convinced that the brain's best trick is just to get you to forget or minimize what you've eaten.  Writing things down is a proven technique to eliminate that problem.  It's tough to stick with, but it pays off every time if one is scrupulously honest.

At the very least you'll understand the magnitude of the problem and where to attack it.
