Lurkers Like Me, Say Hello...
Hi Everyone,
I am a lurker and enjoy this group. Thank you for posting.
I think it's important that us lurkers speak up and share to keep this forum fun and interesting for all of us. With that in mind, introduce yourself and share!
How about sharing your favorite tool to stay on track?
I start my day with a protein shake everyday. It's filling, hydrates, lots of protein, and low carb and low calorie.
I have passed the honey moon stage but I am enjoying my sleeve. I am working hard to keep the weight from creeping up. It's work, but it's doable.
I am tracking a few times a month and I am shocked at how little I get to eat with out gaining. A normal day for me can be 1200 calories. I am not a fan of working out but I do walk fast. I am contemplating doing more. In the past when I have worked out hard for months at a time, I have found that my appetite is huge. I've never tried it with the sleeve.
I look forward to hearing from all of you lurkers, like me.

I'm a Lurker and I still enjoy this group as well.
I'm out over 4 years. Still love my tool. I still weigh daily and record that in the OH tracker. Today I weighed in at 224. My preferred range is 215 - 220. So I have some work to do but not overly concerned about it.
I still control my weight through diet only. Having difficulties motivating my self to exercise.
On the positive side my Wife has finally decided to do her sleeve. She is a bit disappointed as she was supposed to have her Surgery today and it was postponed yesterday. She went through all the hurdles. 6 month medically supervised diet. All the tests. She was on the last day of her two week liquid diet. Received medical clearance from her General doctor on Monday. She went in for her pre op surgical session yesterday morning and the surgeon realized that she was still taken Humira (drug for her colitis). He said she would need to be off that drug for two weeks prior to surgery.
Neither her Internist, Gastroenterology told her she needed to be off the drug. She has seen them all in the last week and they knew she was having the surgery.
Needless to say she was devastated. The doctor told her she could go off the liquid diet for a week and eat protein and back on the liquid diet the week before surgery. I offered to take her out to dinner last night to cheer her up. But she said she rather not. She is going to stay on the liquids for the full two weeks so she doesn't have to deal with the cravings. That's when it finally clicked that she is really ready for this life style change and will be really successful.
For those that aren't familiar. My wife did the Lap band 3 years prior to my sleeve. Did miserable on it. Had it removed three years ago. Was going to revise to the sleeve at that point. Had a Colitis flare up that prevented her from preceding forward. But in all honesty wasn't ready for the sleeve anyway.
I'm very proud of her. And it's only two weeks away.
So that's my story.

I'm also a lurker, come here to have a quick look every few months to check what's going on...
For me it's the opposite: I have to try to eat as much as I can so I don't lose weight. I make it a point to shove something down at least every 3 hours. I feel I don't eat enough around lunch ie. (I can't fit enough!) so I have to compensate throughout the day... Also I feel I am weaker than in the past, so I have to try and eat often.
I wonder why people have such different responses. I wonder if you guys manage to eat larger quantities? I wish I could eat a little more each meal.
The truth is most times I am also not that hungry and I can go almost a whole day without eating and not care about it. Even more reason to watch out and make sure I eat often. Whenever I kind of forget to eat often one day, I drop 5-10 pounds very quickly.
Anyway, good to see old faces here. My surgery was in January 2011 also with Dr. Aceves. Did you guys get the notice he died in a plane crash he was piloting a few months ago? Feels very weird to have your surgeon die. There's no one to complain anymore! Lol.
