Hi Everyone,
As you can see on my ticker, I am up to 185. When I look at my progress, I have been steadily climbing very slowup upward since January of 2013 when I was at my lowest weight of 162. It is so easy to let a couple of pounds sit, but soon its a couple more, and so on. Could you all please be my point of accountability? I pledge to post here every day (sometimes no internet on weekends) that I can until I get back down, and I want to go to my goal.
I could use some help with high protein, vegetarian options. It is quite hard to find filling foods for vegetarians. My staple is yogurt and protein drinks. I feel I am drinking too many of my calories, but I love my protein shakes. I make them with ice, which I crave due to low iron.
Please hold me to it. I need your help!
P.S. Any exercise tips for someone who can only walk? I have a lot of upper body issues (neck, shoulder, back) that prevent me from being able to do any kind of exercise unless it only requires the legs.
Welcome Jane! Looking forward to your posting on this site. I think you'll find folks here to be friendly and encouraging, as well as straightforward and helpful ...oh, and not to mention sillyburgers at times! Bummer on the weight creep--way to catch it before it got too out of hand. I know what you mean with the shakes; my breakfast-go-to-work-shake was the last to go. It was hard to envision not drinking that one meal. Lately, for breakfast I have discovered tuna rolls...light tuna salad (mix tuna with a bit of sour cream and thick Greek yogurt) "wrapped" in fresh spinach leaves. Easy to carry bite sized finger food for the commute. 20+ g of protein, fiber and oodles of iron and other vitamins. This may not be your cup of tea, but the idea is--when I think of traditional breakfast foods, I just come up with- meh---I' trying to think outside the bun, as it were. Smiles your way today! Bonnie
