Visceral Fat Study MRI
Talked to the Radiologist about my Visceral Fat MRI this afternoon.
Interesting stuff:
1 - still have some fatty liver blobs... he said given my history of weight loss he'd expect those to continue to disappear over time
2 - gall bladder is fine, but definitely has some "sludge" in it. Could cause some inflammation down the road but nothing at present and no stones expressing themselves
3 - Small cyst on my right kidney - nothing to be concerned about
4 - Visceral fat is good - he gave a measurement that is a ratio of visceral to subcutaneous of 17.5 - he said that number only means something to an individual, as far as trending - it isn't directly comparable to another person... he said it was looking really good, and I had very little visceral fat left...
He said it was very good for him to be able to compare the DEXA to the MRI... I'll probably go back and do the MRI again in a year and see how the liver fat has progressed.
But basically everything looked really good and he was thrilled to hear about my weight loss and maintenance over the past 2 years.
