111.8. I think I'm looking a bit scrawny but I'll take this any day.
Attending a motorcycle riding refresher course this evening. It's about practicing slow speed maneuvers and emergency stops. These two scenarios are when most riders fall down. Lord knows I've done it for both so I'm looking forward to the practice.
Safe environment but my only worry is if I drop my bike and damage it I may not be able to ride this weekend. Hubby and I are taking our first short 'road trip'. Going down to Waterton National Park which is near the Montana border, part of the Glacier Park system that runs through Canada and the U.S.

This sounds like a great thing to do. Do the people who run the course have bikes you can rent instead of riding Violet?
Jealous of the road trip! My motorcycle riding is totally not street-worthy though - I need so much more closed-course practice. Can't wait to be able to ride confidently on a freeway (or on any road, really).
Be safe this weekend Linda. I'll be thinking about you.

This course is designed for people who are licensed to build confidence and practice skills they already learned but haven't used yet this year. It's different riding here because of the short season. Every spring we kind of start over. Please send me tons of good vibes tonight so I don't drop my bike!!
I remember that sense of longing to be street ready. I promise you will be able to ride in SF in no time. Hills are challenging but not for long, Sweetie. Especially with the skills you already have.
Your chuckle for the day. A guy I ride with refers to our excursions as 'Shrinking Violet'. Which means I'm practicing making Violet 'smaller' or more manageable. Truth!! She is shrinking, for sure.

"Shrinking Violet" - I love it! And it's good to know you ride with people who can appreciate the challenging process of a small person riding a big bike.
Good vibes will be coming your way all weekend long!

I can honestly say that without exception, guys give me total RESPECT for doing this. They truly appreciate and admire us women - especially the little ones - for getting out there!! They don't push me, nor do they coddle me. But they are happy to help if I ask for it. And I do ask sometimes :p
