Orioles have arrived back at our feeders!  They're a week late this year... Fun to watch as a couple pair nest nearby and raise their young - we usually get to watch the babies come to the feeders just after they learn to fly, but the parents are still feeding them...  We were sitting here yesterday and the first one arrived and went after the hummingbird feeder we had out, but then found the jelly - about 5 minutes later #2 arrived. 

COOL!  Praying for Mockingbirds to come live at our place again this year (didn't have any last year).  Truly the most fascinating bird performance there is- well, unless you have the fortune to listen to wild turkey in the wheat fields in the very early morning, or.... Shoot, Tom, now you have me "jonesing for bird song.  I love the looks, but, Oh, the song....  143.2

We have flocks of wild turkeys running around in our backyard too... up to 20-30 at a time.  We've gotten to watch the mating dances up close as the males show off... fascinating!

My wife is a birder - we have a lot of different feeders out and get 4 kinds of woodpeckers - from little downies to giant pileateds.  Had a rose-breasted grosbeak this am. We only get one type of hummingbird up here, but we get plenty when they arrive.

That's one thing I miss about living in that house which we now rent out:  visits from the turkeys and the deer.  I found out first-hand that turkeys can indeed fly.  :)  Used to love to see them outside my windows during the day and to see the lovely, cautious does in my very own backyard early in the morning.  Here in rural suburbia we're lucky to get a blue jay or a cardinal.  However, we DID have a hummingbird flitter-flutter through a few days last summer. 

On my drive to the rental house I check out the marsh on either side of the road.  There are at least four swans sitting nests out there!  Hopefully the babies will survive and increase the population.  How majestic to look out on the marsh and see dozens of swans just being swans.

101 lbs today.  This is my third week of not tracking food on MFP.  I'm trying to just "use the force" and reserve the detailed tracking for WL mode.  So far good.  I'm always going to weigh myself daily though - no doubt about that.

Finally back in the 137-range....137.8.  Hoping that my body is finally relaxing into this new exercise routine and will start to release the pounds!
