Oh Nancy my heart breaks for you today. These things are such an emotional roller coaster with few easy solutions. Take care my friend.

Ahhhh, Nancy, no advice here. How do you fix what (who) doesn't want to be fixed? You become collateral damage, and it just isn't fair. Stay strong, and weather the storm-hopfully it won't last too long. I you big time. Bonnie

so sorry for your stress. sometimes you just have to do all you can to avoid toxic people. i hsve a good friend who had to get a restraining order against her own son as he was an addict and schizzophrenic. but so glad you know that eating won't fix this. have fancy tea in a beautiful cup and try to focus on small joys and that you are no longer obese. diane
Got my skinny on at 113.6.
Hubby and I got our motorcycles out on the highway yesterday. I'm doing much better with city riding but still have a way to go with highway riding.
I have a terrible tendency to slow down on the curves, which drives my husband and everyone else crazy. Hubby reminds me that I wouldn't slow down on those curves in my car, to which my retort is that I'm sure I did when I first got my licence. Hrrmmpphh. So there!!
Tom, that's quite a ride! Well done.

Hi,
So I starting writing you a post about the technicalities and dangers of slowing down while executing a curve, but I'm a scooterer so what do I know?! Instead, I'll just say ride your own ride, my friend! If others think you're going too slow, then they can go right ahead and you'll catch up with them later on a straightaway. You should do what's right (and safe) for you!
Also, have you read the book "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough? It's really great for stuff like that. Also, I thought Noemi at nebcom.com had interesting things to say about having to learn things by riding alone. Nebcom.com is a short read while the Hough book is a tome.
Ride safe! I'm jealous of your highway exploits!

Fiona I truly get the 'technical' dangers of slowing on curves but my scared brain can't overcome that quite yet. And I do prefer 'learning' when I'm alone with no group pressure.
Reminds me of my husband trying to overcome his fear of water/swimming. He 'knows' what to do but does the opposite when fear sets in. Oh and he still can't swim ;) so I remind him of that when he 'lectures' me (okay it just feels like a lecture .... okay I'm overly sensitive about it ...)
I haven't read either of your book recommendations so will look for both :)
