179.6 - back in the 'zone' - pretty quick after this trip...

During my trip to France I actually switched things around and ate a fair amount of carbs, while keeping calories in check.  Seemed to go ok, but I was relieved to get back to my regular routine.  I have been reading that making a diet change now and again is a good idea - going from eating breakfast to not, or vice-versa, both seem to help with weight loss, for example.  It seems the change can be beneficial.  I know there's some advice around that says if you're stuck, try raising your calories for a week, then cutting back - again, it's obviously not the added calories making the weight loss happen, it's the change...  the body habituates to it's situation, so changing things around every so often seems to maybe help... as long as you have the control to reign it in (something a lot of us rightly worry about).

I feel like I have a very good routine at home, so if I'm here I'm in control, more or less.  While traveling I've had less control and more issues.  This trip I decided to roll with that and (a) not stress about it (b) use it as an opportunity to switch the diet around to a different mix of macro nutrients (think baguettes! but not pastries :( ) - seems to have worked pretty well... I had my absolutely normal/predictable 5 lb jump from flying, but it's already gone after 3 days... hoping to see some more losses back into the middle of my zone now.

BTW, I did a little video test of an on-bike camera from Garmin just to see how it worked... video is of us biking (with a guide) through the streets and vineyards of Saint-Emilion, about an hour from Bordeaux.  Probably one of the most magical days I've ever spent on vacation...  the video isn't anything special, but you get a sense of the town and the countryside.... youtube link here

148.0  Gotta stay out of Baskin Robbins (just joking) Actually, my inventory tells me I am enjoying way too much of the early oncomming garden goodies- grilled asparagus, zucchini, peapods to the exclusion of getting my protein in.- No room.  Tom, I like your idea of maybe shaking things up a little.  Am thinking of going to more meals a day?  three of protein, and two of all the veggies my tum wants.  Or is this just me manipulating the system?  Or make me want to be eating all the time?  Shoot.

145.2

I stopped eating my emotions last night. I put on my big girl undies  and I'm wearing the tie-dye t-shirt that was forced on me. I'm rocking my curly hair which drives me crazy but also feels a touch rebellious because no one will look at my stupid t-shirt. They'll be gellin' over my hair. Now I am working on my attitude which needs to be dialed back to my normal snarky zone. If you were in my head right now you would be very afraid.

What a great phrase.  ' Eating my emotions. '   I soooooooooo relate.  Well said.

I watch thinner people who have never had a weight problem and their habits are moderation moderation and moderation.   Not sure I even understand this word.  Not yet anyway!

My pendulum swings. Moderation is a such a small moment in the swing. I have to find a way to deal with the rest of it.

UP the two pounds lost yesterday.

Have visitors and of course it is the late nights etc. etc. Still eating well but having a restaurant meal means extra salt.

Back to water and more water.  Had a great  walk yesterday and will exceed the time and pace today, even though it is rainy and blustery AND we had an earthquake last night.   No-one was hurt.  Just rattled.

Enjoy the day everyone.

134.4 today......all time low since my revision. I should be dancing around and happy, but instead I am depressed about it. When I look in the mirror, I don't see "me" I see a bony person. Starting to mess with my head and having ppl say, "You look awesome" is not helping. I don't feel awesome.

I found out at my followup appt that they had to remove 1 meter of intestines, part of my liver, my stomach and convert me to a rny, because the benign tissue I had growing in my abdomen had spread to all of my organs. Am I afraid to be skinny? I think so.
