Morning:

One the main board is a VERY inspiring post by Devon ( Kairk ) ( sp?) with a number of very inspiring chime-in responses.      Excellent.  Can relate to every one of them.

An especial one is the one that said, and hopefully have this right.  ( paraphrasing badly )   If am an alcoholic I don't drink alcohol but I do drink other things.  Well, I am a  addict and so will not be eating breads, sweets and nearly everything that is white.    That is just how 'simple' it is.   I don't like the way it makes me feel.

Thank you for the post.  It really resonated with me.

Same as yesterday.  Still 9 above goal.

I know you're rockin' the white pants!  Did you order the red sandals?

No. My hubby did it. :-)

I think he got sick of wiping up drool from the desk.

115.4

Had to abandon this morning's 16km run after just 1 km due to residual knee pain from last week's hill training injury. Oh, and I laid my new motorcycle down yesterday. Fortunately I wasn't hurt but the bike is looking all 'broken in' now. I'm so mad at myself.

I know, I know.  These are nothing things in the big picture, but I have to admit they are both bothering me a great deal today. It's that catastrophic and/or poor me thinking getting in the way. I will have to be careful not to try to make myself 'feel better' (yeah, right) with some tasty treats.

Sorry to lay the dark mood on you. This too shall pass. DD is coming over for Easter Dinner. I am looking forward to that. It will help me to stop acting like a big baby ;-)

So I'm going to pull this together now. SLIM, give me the kick in the ass talking to, please.

Awe....Linda!!!!  Of course it's bothering you!!!  Have your whine (wine) lol and then I know you will let it go.  It's disappointing on both accounts.  Your bike has some character now!!!  And, so do you:). Enjoy the rest of the day!!!

Steph I made it through the day without eating my way through the kitchen. With the funk I was in, that's success. Thanks Doll!

OMG, I'm glad to hear you're okay!  Also glad to hear any damage to the bike is cosmetic.  I hope it was a slow speed spill....(dreading my first spill on the Vespa....)....

Hang in there, Linda.  This too shall pass.

Aw thanks Sweetie. I guess it's just a matter of time until we all lay our bikes down. In my case, it cost me nothing physically and that's what I hope for you when that day comes, Miss Fiona :-)

Is the purple paint okay? (Priorities)

The knee is not failure. It is a pothole in the road. Stop turning an injury into a complete reflection of you. I hurt my knee. Now I can't run. And I can't go do my race. Which means that I suck and am a failure. Am I close? It's just an accident and you don't get to take all the blame for yourself.

The bike. What the **** were you doing on the bike with a bad knee? That was a "I'm a failure and so I'm going to go do something else stupid and ride my bike with a ****** up knee" move. Stop it.

Repeat this. I am awesome. I have a ******g fantastic life. I have a cool bike that needs a little TLC. My knee is recovering as I speak.

Benjamin Franklin used to call mistakes "errata." Think about that word for a moment. It is completely none emotional. It isn't claimed by anything or anyone. Errata is simply the wrong "thing." It doesn't name blame or point a finger at anything. It is the kind of word that people could use to say to themselves over and over and it would put them to sleep faster than reading the bible. It is a void. Nothing. It is simply something that didn't go quite right and it is not even worth giving it a name.

The knee injury is errata. The bike is errata. They only become your problems when you CHOOSE to own them. Feed the problems with self blame and you will have to pad lock your entire kitchen.

Let them go and they become nothing.
