Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Monday, March 31, 2014
Hey everybody...
183.5
Back from Chicago, no weight damage done... Had a couple of very good meals, and I think my wife and I have it dialed in appetizer or salad, and 1 entre between us. She can eat 2/3, I eat 1/3... works when traveling since it's hard to do left-overs.
Had incredible tapas at Rick Bayless's Frontera Grille - we kept it to 3 dishes, each a tiny portion of a nicely crafted dish - bacon guacamole, chicken & poblano peppers in cream, and pork carnitas queso fundido... other than a couple of chips it was nicely high-protein and low-carb. Saturday night we did Catch 35, a seafood place on Wacker Drive, where we split a Halibut T-bone steak - and it was literally the size of a T-bone steak. Such nice fish! A protein lovers dream, in a veal broth reduction... just wonderful. Luckily breakfast was free at the hotel and had nice eggs every day... so it was easy to stay on track AND eat great food on this trip for some reason. Plus we walked 8 miles a day...
I have to say I'm super proud of my wife. We were celebrating a bit as Nancy completed her C2 DALF exam at the Alliance Francaise in Chicago- the DALF is a language competency exam given by the French government - she passed the highest level (C2), indicating "native" fluency... the exam was 6 hours - with several hours where she had to read some current events articles and discuss/debate/defend an opinion with two native speakers... then she had to write a couple essays for the remainder of the time. Now we're really set for our upcoming trip in April!
Have a good Monday!

Oh, Jub- What a perfect sounding (and yummy) weekend you had.! And what an accomplishment and crown for your wife. That exam had to be the cumulation of much time over study- no doubt a beautiful mind. Well done!
148.4 First time I've seen that in about 11 days--hopefully trending down now. Back to work today. 8 weeks and counting now 'till the end of this school year. I'm thinking my time has come and done for the profession (30 years) and I'll put in for retirement come next Nov. 1st. The "gun" is in my hand and loaded- been talking about it for a while- will I pull the trigger???
May a delightful, healthy and joyous Monday be yours today, all. Bonnie

Sub?!! I understand that term translates "LUNCH MEAT ON A STICK" to the little cannibals!!! Coolest sub I ever knew was an ancient little old ex-English teacher who always completely ignored the regular teacher's lesson plans. It didn't matter what the class was--the kiddos did English---PE class-English--Calculus--English--Auto mechanics--yep, they all did English. She was a hoot, and I loved it any time she was in the building.

Happy Monday all!
130.2 - my goal was 137 and for about a month I toggled between 134 & 135 now all the sudden in the last week I've dropped to 130. I haven't changed anything, did this happen to anyone? Should I just let my body do it's thing or do I need to up my food again? I'm 5'2 so my bmi range is 122 -137.
Hmmmm... interesting. How do you feel about the new weight? If you are comfortable at 130, then I wouldn't change a thing, and wait and see what happens --maybe your body wants to be at 130 and your caloric intake will support it just fine. If you find yourself dropping further--small adjustments will balance everything out- easy does it.
