Well thank you!  This is the base model, which comes (standard) with smaller rims and a lower seat than the other models. I think the seat height is 29.5". I'm 5'2". I'd call the foot peg position 'neutral'. Not back like a sport bike nor forward like a cruiser.

I do lots of city driving, but this bike has lots of get up and go for highway. Some touring planned for this summer. Violet weighs a tad under 500 and she's 865cc

comparatively my first bike weighed 400 and was 250cc

I'm so impressed that at 5'2"/115, you can handle a 500-pound Bonneville!  That's amazing.  The neutral riding position is interesting.  And it's nice that Violet is flickable enough for the city even if she's really a freeway type of gal :-)  You two totally rock the motorcycle scene!  So jealous of your touring plans!

I'm not much smaller than you but I'm kinda struggling with the Vespa (dry weight = 250 lbs).  I do plan to learn to ride motorcycles this summer (I've never driven a clutch machine so that'll be the challenge), so maybe there's some touring in my future too :-)  My boyfriend rides a Ducati, but he's looking into a touring bike as well.

Thanks so much for sharing!  I hope to meet you and Violet one day, maybe even go for a ride :-)

Love to ride together one day!!! Most would consider my bike to be a street/commuter bike. I couldn't have started on this last year and I think it will be more than enough for me and my riding style. I can't completely flat foot but I'm close.

I think your  scooter experience will give you a real advantage in learning to ride a motorcycle. Fiona I just remembered that there's a really low 650cc Suzuki Boulevard model - neutral riding position and I think you could flat foot on it. Great around the city but capable on highway too. I have a friend who has one and she's put a lot of highway seat time on it.

You should take down my address so that if Violet ever goes missing you will know where to find her.

Purple is my favorite color. It is also the best color in the world. Just sayin'.

Greetings skinny earthlings. 119 today. Feel like i can pig out but wont.

Slim if I could find that poopslinger monkey i would throttle it for you.  Seems like you have had more than your share of curve ball monkey turds come your way.  Vent here all you like. your comments are always interesting and hope we can help by listening.  get that walk in if you can - you will feel better and maybe take that big farting dog with you for protection against monkeys.

been trying to think of a remedy for bubbles in the brain. perhaps there is a charity dedicated to this dread disease.

hang in there.  diane

HAHA! Thank you again for making me laugh.

The remedy for bubbles in the brain is to listen to my son play his Xbox with his friends for 20 hours straight. Funny how she thinks that is cute and sweet and fun to listen to, but her siblings are loud and annoying. Perspective is always interesting.
