VSG Maintenance Group
Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Wednesday, February 19, 2014
183.0 - bump up by 2 lbs overnight. Water. Whatevs... I didn't eat 10,000 calories yesterday :), but I did have a hard resistance workout - I need to start tracking weight spikes following resistance exercise which I am doing 2x / week.
Heading to London tonight, I'm very excited for this trip. I've been developing a new customer there and we're about to triple our business with them and hopefully build it even further. I'd love to find customer #2 & 3 there to justify more trips :)
I'm also very excited because on Saturday I'm attending a seminar for crew for the Race Across America - I'm crewing for my cycling coach in June, and this seminar happened to fall into my travel schedule. We need it as we'll be a very inexperienced group undertaking a huge challenge, so any information we can garner will be great.
Have a great hump-day.
Tom

I'm finding more and more that a boring routine, especially when it comes to food, is my friend. With diet, i'm absolutely craving a consistent routine, and even dumbing down the foods to eating the same things day after day... my wife hates it, so she goes her own way. She can't eat the same thing two days in a row! The more variety I have, the more I eat, it seems.

I ate the same things over and over, pretty much, during WL phase. In maintenance I find I'm only really switching up at meal 4 and have only increased my quantity somewhat at the other three meals. That will change again starting this Friday and for nine Fridays after that when co-op starts again and I am forced to have protein drinks for meals 1 and 2 due to time and activity limitations. It's a blessing, really -- 260 calories total for those two meals and NO opportunity for any grazing or stupid eating during those hours I'll be at co-op or traveling to or from there.
I'm with you and Tom on the plain eating philosophy- Structure is my friend. Finding myself ever-so-comfortable with the protein shake for breakfast and protein (tuna-greek yogurt- cott cheeze- dried edamame - with some raw veggies for lunch and then some variation for dinner. Only in America do we feel like every single bite of food has to explode with flavor in our mouths----

Yeah, the library secretary (not my bestie) commented that I always eat the same thing. She's right. I've tried just about everything, every combo, adding in stuff, subtracting stuff. It was all in desperation to lose weight. Being a slow loser is a real head **** Eating the same thing most days makes my life feel less crazy. It's the anchor in the whirlwind.
I love the "great" cities - London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco... so much cool stuff going on!

144.6 Back from a two day educators' conference and some of the BEST smoked salmon ever (oh, yes, and some tasty appetizers, too)- I was rewarded with a small loss this morning for avoiding the damned never empty chocolate-cookie-pretend like they're healthy but they're really not snack table. GEEZE-what is it about teachers-carbs and sugar a numbing drug of choice....all fricking day long.....Hugging my plain little lunchbox today and grateful for the healthy, tummy friendly food inside.

100.6 lbs today.
I agree with the plain and structured eating - nothing like it for maintaining weight (and losing it too!).
Have any of you ever tried an almond milk latte? I'm having one right now. It's quite gross :-)
Have a good day, all!
