146.0- a number that looks very good logged onto my blotter graph.  The sun is shining- the snow is brilliant, what there is of it- and amazed as I am, school is canceled yet again today!  Whoop and whoop! What's on the plate today?  Well, literally grilled chicken- my one guarenteed defence against grazing--chicken in first and no room for the sliders- Time on my hands, as much as I covet and enjoy it, is not always safe food-wise.  I did great yesterday, but stringing two days home alone with my pantry beckoning and a natural love to bake......

The grump is gone, but now I'm colder than a cheerleader's glare. -9 degrees (NEGATIVE). Not enough snow to close the school and not quite cold enough either. It has to be -10 degrees because that one degree makes a big ass difference. And the wind chill of -14 degrees doesn't count.

I'm wearing a wool sweater that I bought while on my honeymoon in New Zealand 18+ years ago. It's a little big which made me smile. I said **** it to fashion this morning and I'm going for function. wool sweater, black jeans that are too damn big, wool socks and hiking boots.

Lots to do today. I'll be helping my MIL with some things  this afternoon. I'll also be helping my son with write a speech for  TSA - he's going for a State position and he has to give a 2-3 minute speech. Busy day.

Sounds like you've been rummaging around in the back of my closet!  Crazy how we pull some clothes on now, and think we are slumming it, when just a short time ago, those same clothes were outside of any reality, and we just "dreamed" of being able to squeeze into them!  Wear that sweater today as a badge of honor!!!   What's TSA?

Technology Student Association - a bunch of techy geeks that get together and have techy competitions. They build stuff with 3-D printers, build mini race cars with computer programs (Solid works, and some other software that I can't remember) and then a machine cuts the race car out of a block of wood - then they race the cars. My boy and his friends also built a catapult out of wood that about 2 feet in diameter. It almost put a hacky sack through a cement wall. He's mentoring an elementary school kid and they are competing together in "Four" a miniature golf course that they lay out on a computer and then build. Geek stuff. I get to be a chaperone this year. I'm a geek at heart, so it's all good. My main reason for chaperoning, though, is that I get to stay at the Marriott for two nights - like a little me vacation - if you don't count the 50+ teenagers I have to babysit, but not LOOK like I'm babysitting.

Fun stuff.

My boy is the computer whiz. My daughter rocks any stage there is. Sometimes, she even makes a stage when there isn't one - I'll let you ponder what that means for awhile.

My kids couldn't be more yin and yang.

Better day yesterday.  I forgot how satisfying Unjury Chicken Soup protein is for me.  :)

Ice storm overnight, but the temp is  s l o w l y  rising.  Could have been much worse.  Little son's school started two hours late.  Of course he hit all the puddles on his way to the bus.  :)

My new SF Torani is out for delivery, allegedly, which is actually an issue when it's this cold out.

116.6 for me today.  Its very cold here in Calgary today - one of the coldest we've experienced all winter.  It's getting to me, for sure, so I'm longing for spring.

internet was out this morning and boy was hubby cranky. 122.5 today and feeling ok. got some fresh crab for dinner. out here we are having summer-like weather with no rain or snow (which we desperately need) but it should be coming in soon. hubby and i were married 19 years as of yesterday. spent the evening watching him throw up because he overdosed on goldfish crackers. we had agreed in advance to celebrate our aniversary friday or saturday for other reasons which is a good thing.    diane
