I've got a serious case of the Monday moans. I don't want to go to work. I don't want to pay the bills I ignored all weekend. I don't want to talk to my MIL.

Hubby is heading up to Boulder ONE MORE TIME to be there when the crate people come to box up the organ and get it sent to Texas. I wish I could go instead, but it was his turn to take a day off. He didn't seem too sad about it.

Alright, time to start working on adjusting my attitude.

You all have a wonderful day!

Slim, my theory is, it's the January blahhhhs that have us in its grip.  The good news- this Motherjumpingmonthformhell is just one week away from being extinguished; February has promise and hope attached- a dim view of spring to come.  Hang in there, girly girl.  Yesterday it was nice enough to spend the day ourt on the deck in the sun cracking out black walnuts.  I must have gotten enough vit. D to carry me in semi-optomisticly into a Monday morning.  This morning- back to normal - 30 mph wind gusts and below zero wind chill.--b'bye sun for a day or two.  147.4 and flat in the middle of my comfort zone.

Yeah, it's colder than an arctic fart here. The good news is that I get to wear my new crimson jacket that I bought at White and Black this weekend. It makes me happy-er.

Yeah that visual of an arctic fart always makes me laugh. I think of the the videos they show of people throwing boiling water into the air and it turns into ice before it hits the ground. I wonder if the moisture from the fart would freeze onto their butts. It would have to be really cold.

Yes, I am one twisted ***** :-)

Damn.   I know why, though.  Mini epiphany yesterday while overly enjoying the roasted salted chickpeas:  I am using savory carby foods as transport devices to feed my salt habit.  This is complicated by having to increase my calories due to hitting goal and starting maintenance.  It segues over into sweet carby foods.  Not good.   The plan for today is to shake a little crunchy Kosher salt into my hand like I would during WL phase and get my salt fix that way, along with incorporating more crunch into my daily intake via lettuce and frozen-solid Greek yogurt mixed with SF preserves.  Going for denser proteins as well to try to stay satisfied.  Will deploy a "before" on the pantry door if things don't settle down.

Also need to get more daily with exercise than I have been.

Thanks for listening.  Comments welcome.  Smacks upside the head welcome as well.

Hi Nancy,

Just some suggestions for a salty fix.  I've used dill pickles, spicy pork rinds dipped in sour cream (don't knock it 'till you've tried it), parmesan crisps (either home made or Whole Foods), cole slaw, crudites dipped in ranch, hummus, whatever.  There are lot's of options out there...

Thanks!  Good ideas there.

I tried something new yesterday:  canned chicken + some (probably too much) cole slaw mix + 1 Tbsp RF olive oil mayo.  Then I finished what was left of my frozen Chobani concoction.  They did not play well together for some reason, and I felt lousy pretty much the rest of the day.  Sooo, back to the drawing board.  :)

I do hummus to get my salt fix.

So the one thing I've learned while watching others in maintenance is that you have to use a plan. Green zone, Yellow zone. Red zone. Some folks have these zones on both sides of their goal weight. The key to getting back in the green zone is to NOT make excuses. This is NOT your new normal weight. Excuses kill maintenance faster than Eowyn took out the Witch King in LOTR.

I've been trying to get to my goal weight for over 2 years and I know very well what excuses have done to help - precisely dick. The fact is, when I stopped making excuses and got back to the grind of weight loss 4 months ago, I lost another 5 lbs. If I can do it anyone can.

I'm not trying to be an asshole, I just tend to appreciate it when people say it like they see it.

Right now, my excuse is this bladder infection. I get til Friday to keep eating GY and telling myself that it's okay even though GY is a trigger for me. Then I face the fat lady in my brain and we get back down to business.
