Thank you.  Had a nice talk with myself after my trip to the scale.

Speaking of strength of action, I freed my front sidewalk of its 14" of snow (10" from the sky and 4" that the snowplows threw up onto the sidewalk from the street).     At some point my husband wrenched the snowblower into gasping life and finished the sides while I took care of the steps and porches.  Good thing, because it was then 6 degrees out with a wind chill of -12, and my fingers and toes were not feeling normal despite layers of protection.

Last year or the year before all that shoveling would have been impossible for me.  This year, nooooooooooo problem.  :)

Yup!

I will see your "hydration" and add to it "sleep."  I am way down on sleep, and I'm sure that's not helping my maintenance.

101.4 lbs today.  I'm really amazed that I didn't gain any weight from yesterday's experiment!

Linda and Nancy, thanks so much for your support.  Your posts made me feel like I wasn't totally alone in this :-)

Some observations from yesterday:

(1) Trying to get 1300 cals in while eating clean is tougher than I thought!  1300 is A LOT of food!  In the end, I had to add in some mayo just to get the cals up :-)

(2) After a long time of avoiding sweets, the half an apple I had yesterday seemed cloyingly sweet!  I almost couldn't fini**** If I continue to eat fruit, I'd like to be sure I don't end up craving sweets the way I used to.  That felt like I was playing with fire.

(3) I took a ballet class last night so I'm wondering if the exercise helped with the weight loss instead of a gain.  The class was super easy though - I didn't even break a sweat.

So, all in all, I'd say day 1 of the "1300 cals/75 carbs experiment" went extremely well!  I'm going to try and replicate the experience today.  I'm already worried about the weekend as I have a pizza party to attend, but I'm sure I'll have a plan in place before then.

Have a good one all!

Fiona

I'm watching what you are doing, too.

Finding that "sweet spot" with carbs and calories can be tough. You are handling it very well.
