Linda, I'm sorry to hear that. It's good at least that the source of the problem has been identified and that you have a treatment plan. Hang in there!
Up after hike makes sense - you'll get this off very quickly Mims

Hi Everyone,
Still 176.6 today, but I did get into a few carbs last night and my calories for the day were close to 1200. I need to be lower than that, even though My Fitness Pal says I will lose 6 lbs. in 5 weeks if I do the same thing as yesterday everyday. Unfortunately, MFP doesn't know that I have had a VSG. I really don't know where I need to be to lose now. It got very difficult when I got down around 165 so that's why I decided I was fine with that. 165 seems like such a long way to go from here.
Have a great day!
I hear you... I seem to gain (slowly) at around 1500 NET calories per day. I'm shooting for 1200 net, now, and that seems to be working. 100 Cal a day can make a big difference over a year... but it works both ways - you can shave off 100-200 cals and get back to a slight loss mode. I'm trying to find my "balance" point. In the summer when I could cycle more aggressively I was maintaining at 1500-1800 cal/day Net.

Jane, forgive me if I'm overstepping, but because you indicated you don't know where you need to be to continue losing, I would suggest you take your calories down to 1000 per day and ensure you are getting at least 80 grams of protein with less than 40 grams of carbs (20 grams if you can stand it).

You're not overstepping Linda. The protein is around 120 g a day so it's good. It's really hard for me to get my carbs down as I don't eat meat. However, I have done. 1000 cal/day for a number of days so will just have to be patient I guess. It's a good thing the tool makes it easier to drop the calories.
I forgot you're vegetarian so totally get the carb dilemma. But you clearly have the cals and protein where they need to be for you to be successful :)
