148.0 - time to get the crap out of my food plan
Hubby and I had our workout with the personal trainer. It was fun. He liked it - Hey Mikey! Hubby is pretty anti-PT's because he had one forced on him by his mom when he was young. Pissed him off. But, PT's have changed and he see that now.
We might see one long enough to put a workout together for us, but we are pretty good about figuring it out ourselves. Don't know for sure.
Racquetball today with the SIL. She can only handle 30 minutes, so I might bring hubby along for the second half.
149.2 Boo-me. Nuts are not my friend!

Back from AZ, will weigh in tomorrow... not going to get worked up with a weight after sitting in the car for 3 days.
it's about a zillion degrees below zero here...
Indoor cycling training starts again this week, so good to be back. We'll start with a Time Trial - which is hard. 30 minutes straight of as hard as you can go. It's mentally tough to sustain... but a good measure of fitness... hopefully my 350 miles in tucson will help out!

I got a chill just at the thought of going from AZ to MN in January.
You are STARTING with the time trial? Whoa. I give you major props there. Pls post updates about how the indoor training is going.
We start every training "segment" with a 30 minute TT, from this our coach calculates our Functional Threshold Power (FTP) which is then used to set training zones for the next couple months.
-14 degrees now, and dropping... tomorrow will come close to setting some records - all schools in the state have been closed. Windchills in the -50 range may be possible. Yuk.

Do you use your own bike on a stand, or do you use spinning-type bikes at a gym, or ... ?
Do they even still make stands for indoor use of an outdoor bike? Might be showing my age there. :)
I use my own bike on a "trainer." In my group this one here is very popular- as it's reasonably cheap, rugged and portable to bring to class. Our coach is of the opinion that it makes the most sense to train on your own bike... keeps you used to the geometry, seat, etc.
At home I have another one (here) that is fully computer controlled and syncs to videos like these.
Very fun! The technology has come a long way... you can now have a speed/cadence/heart rate/power meter/gps all go through your iPhone and record your training sessions, plot your course on a map, etc.
Some great websites out there like mapmyride.com, trainingpeaks.com, strava.com, trainerroad.com etc. that make training more enjoyable.
