Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Monday, December 2, 2013
183.0 - bounced up like 2 lbs - no idea why, but I'm sure it won't stay around. These things happen-there isn't always a reason I can point to.
Off to New York for 3 days this week (for work) then back again next week (for vacation). Next week I'm taking a day-long barista class at Counter Culture Coffee in Manhattan - really looking forward to that.

Some details:
The Beginner Espresso Lab introduces the fundamentals of espresso and espresso-based beverages. Baristas will learn the history of espresso, as well as the science and craft behind the beverage. Topics include espresso distribution and dosing, grind adjustment, tamping technique, proper milk texturing, beverage preparation, espresso equipment cleaning and upkeep, espresso bar operation basics and more, with ample hands-on lab time with expert instructors. Perfect for new baristas or as a skill building refresher course, this course is a prerequisite for the Intermediate Espresso Lab, and required for Counter Culture Coffee Barista Certification. The lab fee is $200.

Sounds like a blast. I think I have a barista hidden somewhere deep within me . . . at least for practicing at home :-)
