Daily Maintenance Weigh-In - Monday, November 11
Happy Veteran's Day - thanks to all you that have served and your loved ones.
On the flight home yesterday I read a pretty amazing book called "The Road to Valor" about Italian Cyclist Gino Bartali, who won the Tour de France in 1938 - then the war came and he was unable to compete for 10 years. He came back and won again in 1948. But the most interesting thing was what he did during the war... working with the Catholic church in Florence, and under the guise of training for cycling, he pedaled hundreds of miles per week transporting (in the frame of his racing bike) forged documents to allow Jews to either flee the German occupation or evade arrest with the false papers. The Church set up their own counterfeiting operation to help the Jews in Italy, and Gino was the delivery man, riding all over Tuscany...
Amazing...
Anyway... back from a few days of cycling in the Phoenix area, did about 160 miles. Nothing too hard, but a good re-start to training after a month off. I've been hovering around 180-182 during the month off, whi*****luded a lot of travel, so not too bad. So last week started "off-season" training, which continues this week (indoors). And back on a serious diet to cut a bit of weight. I'm planning to get back down to the 175 region. Hauling and extra 5-7 pounds up the hills wasn't that much fun last week.
today at 181.9...
Have a great Monday!

Great book.
It's Monday and I'm happy it's Monday which is a little sad.
Looks like my MIL is moving in with us for a few months/years. I'm going to be working on emptying the extra bedroom (it has its own full bath) and calling the homeless man to nicely tell him to get the **** off her property. In case you missed that--the homeless man has a cell phone...and a truck.
Do you guys have squatters rights in Colorado? And also maybe you should rent out her place when she's not there because an empty house with a situation like someone homeless who knows there is an empty house and has a familiarity with it might be...problematic. And also if he has a phone and a truck is he homeless and a stranger or a friend who is down on his luck because since she let him move in maybe it's the latter and not such a problem.
I know more **** to worry about. God you are having a run of it.
Yes, we do have squatter's laws here. She actually doesn't own the property--her daughter does. I'm the heavy in the family (just call me Tony Soprano), so I'll be calling him later tonight.
He came around looking for work one day and she had him help with some things. Then he came around again. And again. Now he's living in the shed. My SIL says that she hears hammering and loud music. I asked her what the **** he was doing and she said that he was probably making improvements to his new living space.
Yeah, that ****s ending right now.
I've got to get him out before I can move her here. I'll have to talk to my SIL about renting out the house. Hmm... my MIL's stuff will still be there.
Next is taking her to tons of doctors and figuring out all of these memory issues.
My life is like a ******g field of moguls without skis.

I'm off today and have a massage scheduled, lesson plans to do and chili in the crockpot. Yesterday, I made spaghetti squash in the crockpot with marinara sauce...yummy delicious.
Sounds like a great read, Tom!
Slim, hang in there!
Mimi, I'd like to get back to 135# and hold there. We can do it:)
Spaghetti squash is one of my new favorites! I bake it in a pan with some water (about a cup****il it's soft and tender. It lasts in the fridge for a good week or so and is so versatile. I've never been a big squash fan unless it's been transformed into a pie or soup, but this spaghetti squash is really something else. Cracks me up how since VSG I work at trying new veggies. Cause really, I'm just a plain old meat and potatoes guy at heart!
