179...
Well, this weekend was one of my first big "crap-eating-festivals" in maintenance (outside of international traveling). I planned it, I own it, and now I'll be recovering from it this week...
I had an "End of the cycling season" party at my house Saturday with 16 of my cycling pals and wives. I fired up my brick oven for the first time since surgery, and made 10 pizzas (I had exactly one small slice, so my problem wasn't there)... I also made a giant vat of my favorite New Mexican green chile chicken stew and jalapeno cornbread (now we're talkin'!) and the usual party crap - chips, nuts, etc. I didn't kill myself with food, but I did graze a lot during the day on things that we normally just don't have around the house. the cornbread was the real devil... couldn't stop nibbling on that stuff - with everything else I was in control.
So, all said, it could be worse. I'm still on a "month-off" of serious training, which contributed to eating poorly, but I'm starting to do easy workouts now, so this weight will come back off.
Have a great start to the week!
Tom

Tom - I feel your pain. I absolutely suck at parties--not saying that you do, but I do. All of my old feelings about food come creeping back in. About a year ago, I realized that I really wasn't as comfortable at parties without food --a plate of something, etc. I still struggle with parties. For me, the plate of food is kind of like a shield.
Monday - I haven't even left the house yet, and it already feels like a long-ass week.
Broncos won--it wasn't pretty, but at least it's something.
I hear you - I'm a bit socially awkward, so food during parties has been a bit of a refuge for me. As things went, I wasn't too bad DURING the party... i was really busy making pizzas and serving and talking... it was the all-day cooking (and grazing) that made it a rough day for me. During the party I did indulge in things I shouldn't have, but the quantities were limited - my sleeve works! - but i can sure graze if left to my own devices...

150.1 - back up, fully recovered from stomach flu, although I think that's on my high end right now. I slept like CRAP last night. Sleep and my weight go hand in hand.
My daughter's online public charter school (k12.com) was supposed to go to a farm and do pumpkin painting, a maze, all this fun stuff... but it's raining. We so desperately need the rain here in Central Texas that I don't want to complain, but man... it would have been nice to get out for a bit!
