Talk to your online teacher rep (most home programs have a teacher, I think) and ask her what happens if your daughter goes at a faster pace. Tell the teacher that you don't want a bunch of busy work for your daughter, but you do want to know if she will be allowed to move at HER pace. I have 2 smarty pants kids and they kind of drive me nuts with how easily they get bored. Boredom--even at home--is not a good thing.
Fight hard for the 504 and then MAKE them keep it for him all the way through high school. One of the ways that schools like to show "progress" is by getting kids off 504's and IEP's. This is ******g bull**** imo because the 504 gives your son more options for test-taking (like he could have a proctor assist him with the ACT or SAT--that's ******g huge, imo). Also, he can keep getting support in college. Also, most kids on 504's are extremely smart and can sometimes show progress that makes the school say that they are all better now and they don't need the 504. KEEP the ******g 504--forever.
Life happens, hun. You are soldiering through. Give yourself a pat on the back (softly) and a big ******g hug for me (not so tight that it hurts your back, though). You got this.
