Daily Maintenance Weigh In, Thursday, August 1, 2013

151.0 - even after my first walk/exercise. So that's 2.5 lbs down since Sunday. Amazing what happens when you get rid of the crap (read nuts and too many parties)in your diet.

I went to my first "Coffee Get Together" yesterday. Apparently, many of the the secretaries aren't pulling their hair out in trying to get ready for the first day of school, so they have morning coffees almost daily. There was some coffee--I think. There was also a homemade dump cake and apple fritter. And just in case that wasn't enough sugar for 9:30 am, there was also ice cream. I didn't eat a crumb. Luckily that kind of stuff just doesn't rock my boat. But, I can see a lot of "I don't eat that kind of food" coming out of my mouth in the future.

Anywho, I am off to process more books and listen to the sad life story of my new bestie coworker.

Shout out to Candy. Hugs sweetie! I hope the drugs are wonderful and the pain is gone!

You all have a glorious day!

145.6#  Still going in the right direction.  I still need to drop 3# before I'm back to where I was vacation.  Lazy day for me...hubby is gone all day for band camp and then enrollment.  I'm still dog sitting, so we will catch up on TiVo:). This evening we have a meeting at church.

Shoe report... My 3 inch heels and I endured my class reunion; standing and dancing.  My feet didn't hurt at the end of the evening.  That means I can teach in them.  Yeah!

Slim- I'm totally using that line when school starts!  Good job!

Candy-thinking about you this morning and praying for a uneventful recovery!

Mimi- maintenance suits you:)

Have a fabulous day!

Good morning,

i thought I would drop back in here for a while. Some of you know from MFP that my husband lost his very brief battle with pancreatic cancer just over 3 weeks ago. The celebration of his life is this Saturday. As expected, my emotions are raw and all over the place. And I have found myself binge eating again. I am still within my maintenance range, but up 4 pounds from my lowest weight. Trying to get back on track feels so hard, but I know I can and will do it. But I need the support of this and my MFP friends - isolating is not the answe!

Judy, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved husband. I did not know. Of course it has thrown you into a tailspin. You are right to stay connected. Isolating would not be good. Please know that my husband and I are committed prayers and we will keep you and your family in our prayers. You can stay on track. Please remember that your life must still go on and you need to be in the best health you can. Time, love of family and friends, and wonderful memories will heal your broken heart. I hope the celebration of your husband's life is a fitting tribute to him and that you can receive some comfort from it. Take care.

Judy, I'm so sorry for your loss - and just writing those words feels flat--deflated. When I lost my mother in 2004, one of my best friends said to me "People are crazy. The ones you think will handle it well...won't. The ones you think will drive you crazy might actually be the people who are the best support." She was so, so right.

Take care of yourself as best as you can. We'll be here whenever you need to drop in and vent, or just say hi.

*big hugs*
