Mom - I retain fluid from exercise - or from sitting - or walking. I'm one big fluid retention system, honestly.

Slim - send them a nice note, they won't mind. Just be polite. HR people hate rude "give me my stuff dammit" people. LOL

154.1 - down 1.5 - My eating has been questionable, at best. Stress eating, but I'm controlling the damage by at least eating the right things. There's nothing I can do to stop it right now, so I'm just working through it. Those damned Yasso frozen greek yogurt bars are keeping me from finding cheesecake, so... yeah.

So, the weight from all those drugs I was on seems to be coming off. Whew.

Surgery tomorrow. I can do this. If I can get through all the work stuff I let pile up. I'll likely just leave it until I forward it all to someone else to deal with at the last minute. LOL

147.5# I'm going in the right direction:) It's been relatively easy to get back on plan after vacation.  I know it might not always be  that way, but I'm taking it.

I'm dog sitting this week.

Candy, I'll be thinking about you. Hugs!

Slim, I work for a school system and HR can be very slow.  Try to roll with it...lol. Yeah, I know!

Ann, how do you NoT gain weight on vacation???

Mom, I don't retain much.  I try and drink a lot!!  I do retain when I'm traveling.  My drinking schedule is off!

Tricks to not gaining on vacation:

Keep logging (it'll keep you from going haywire)
Be active (it'll burn off some of the extra calories)

And my number one way to not gain on vacation: I snatch one bite each of my husband & daughter's treats instead of getting one of my own.

Mom - I also meant to tell you that I retain large amounts of fluids after all workouts - but, especially after a heavier, or new type of workout.

Sometimes it can last awhile (1-2 weeks) because I KEEP working out.

I suspect that I'm retaining fluids right now, but I'm not sure why. I haven't been able to work out in a couple of weeks.

a couple of things might help you get rid of the fluids

1. Drink even more water than you normally do - our bodies tend to hold onto water when it thinks that we are not giving it enough.

2. Lower your sodium.

3. Raise your sodium a little - I know it goes against #2 but sometimes we don't get enough sodium when we work out hard. Unfortunately, you have to figure out for yourself is #2 or #3 is what you need.

4. Potassium. Be careful taking too much. But, adding some potassium can help your body to let go of the fluids.

Good luck. Honestly, I really only get relief from the fluid retention when the heat of summer is finally over.

The weight gain is water weight. Your muscles retain water for muscle repair after intense exercise.
