Daily Maintenance Weigh In Saturday July 20, 2013

I have nothing planned all weekend. Nothing. Nodda. Zip. Now THAT feels great!

150.8 - right in range, woot!

I am still figuring this out, adding calories and carbs and seeing what happened. I kept an average of 1300 calories and 110 carbs or so (had a slice of pizza one day, a manapua another day). I find I can eat those breads now, but I have to pinch off the big thick sections, etc. It actually feels good to be eating somewhat normally again. I am, as I've always said, going for balance. I am not going to live my life without pizza "forever" but I can eat one slice instead of 3/4 of a large, ya know?

The biggest thing I'm watching for emotional eating and making sure that I'm eating pizza because it's pizza night and not because I had a bad day. I'm also making sure that I know it's okay to "go over 1000 calories". I'm really glad I took a very gradual approach to losing the last several pounds. It kind of allowed me to land softly and figure it out as I go. Figuring out who I am (in the food department) has been tough, but I am feeling successful at the moment.

151.6 - pain meds.

Think I'm clear-headed enough (finally stopped drooling and having a meaningful conversation with a pillow that I am sure tried to take advantage of me) to post. I am such ******g light weight. 2 vicodin and I'm in the middle of the movie Hair and Easy Rider.

Have a day.

171 today.

Just back from a 105 mile training ride... building up to a 200km/125 mile  race in 3 weeks.

Still experimenting with on-bike nutrition.  I had some stuff mixed up custom for my needs and that seems to work pretty well.  My stomach was really upset during my last race and I suffered for it - I was just not able to stay ahead of my calorie burn and bonked a bit on the hills.  This new drink seems to sit pretty well and I really don't need anything else while on the bike other that this.

It's kind of cool - they ask you 10-15 questions and then they blend a mix for your energy/electrolyte needs.

118.

I've decided not to post my weight every day any more. It was making me a bit cuckoo. I still weigh the same amount (most days except when I forget) but I'm not posting about it.

I'm trying to move up from 2x a week exercising to 3x. I realized I was pushing the biking too hard so I cut my ride short today. Hopefully I can then swim on Monday or Tues. I was doing two "long" rides a week instead of a short and a long ride. And each ride longer than the one before it. Oops.
