Back from hiking and camping, just sharing a couple pics and a hello-
Came back from the trip to N. WI with several mosquito bites, a small contusion above my eye (stupid headlamp accident) and a couple blisters.. Several pics were taken in not the best angles ;) and I noted I'd def like to get down to my lower 140 range.. looking a bit poochy to me at 148, but hell- I can HIKE and scramble over rocks!
Spent a day climbing, doing trails, swimming with fishies nibbling toes, and the rest of the time camping with my husbands family. Drank a few beers, ate too much cheese, but otherwise ate clean save for the late, late drive home last night where tiredness and temptation won and I had a lot of sugar..and felt absolutely horrible.. when you don't eat it, then do.. ugh. Spun out, crashed.. icky. Not wanting to repeat that anytime soon.
Back to my normal today, and will work to get to where I feel like I look good in spandex hiking pants again (is that really possible, ha!?).. a few months and I should be good and down to around 140. No rush, just something I noted along with my BF% getting up over 25% again in the last couple months.. too many parties, and especially too much indulgence in beers to blame for this one. I know what's up, just need to cut out that unnecessary extra stuff so the extra stuff on me goes away.
148.1 this am after the trip..
Started at lake level:
Went to the top:
Back down for a much needed swim, and treated to toe-nibbling by these guys:
Great pics! Someplace I would enjoy being (well, if there was a nice lodge to return to in the evening! LOL! I'm a lousy camper....) I think you look wonderful, but understand your desire to go back down to 140. I have allowed myself to "float" back up to the top of my range (and a couple times over the red line!) and am not so happy about that and have been back in WL mode for about 2 weeks. Like you, I'm slowly, but surely wending my way back down. I'll also be narrowing my range. I've realized that with too broad of a range is not ideal for me. I'm a limit pusher and that's something I just needed to come to terms with.
Thanks for sharing where you are and what 's going on.
Thanks! I'm a good camper (as long as the weather is good and the bugs aren't too bad- the weather was great, the bugs.. it was Wisconsin.. but DEET is a life-saver.)
Next time we are looking for a nice hot tub cabin in the woods nearby. Something about hiking all day, makes me really appreciate a nice hot soak that night! Plus Wisconsin Summers are warm, but night time can get chilly once the sun goes away.
If I had never gotten to my low-low point, I would prob be totally happy here.. but the last few lbs brought back more belly and hips than I like- so time to get rid of the culprit- and I know where it came from which makes cutting it out/seriously limiting it easier. It's funny, even 2+ years out I still obsess over my weight. Todd shared his thoughts when I asked (have to ask, he's a smart guy- won't offer comments on my body w/o it!) and suggested I stay btwn 140-145, when I drop below 140 he says it really starts coming off my face and I get the xylophone thing too much with the ribs.. When I went below 135, even I thought I looked kinda icky- so I've seen both ends of the spectrum of "normal" on me.
