Daily Maintenance Weigh In - June 28, 2013
157.2
Just sent hubby to the store for something stronger (thinking of trying Oxy-Powder, my doctor recommended a colon cleanse a few months ago). I need some major help. It hit me today that the hydrocodone has been causing constipation issues and not only is that becoming an issue, physically, but I bet that might be part of the weight issue. Not the worst it's ever been, but yeah.
Anton, the new doggie, went to the vent this morning. He's healthy other than a deep ear infection that we'll be treating for the next two weeks. He has a small hernia that's just fatty tissue, but they'll likely do a little repair next year when he goes under for his teeth cleaning. Otherwise, he's great. It's so sweet, he follows my daughter around. I love my chihuahuas, they are pretty low maintenance, but it's nice for my daughter to have a dog that likes to play and run and fetch and all that stuff. (Although he only brings back the toy every few times LOL, but he likes to play chase with it!)

Poop could definitely affect your weight. I used to do pysillium seed husk - apparently the husk makes you less gassy than the seeds. I bought it a GNC. Its called Colon Pure (I always got the unflavored kind). You have to use just a little and stir it into cold water (it won't mix in all the way). Drink it fast right after and then sip on water for awhile after that. It's honestly a little bit harder to do with our tiny tummies because it does expand a little. I'd probably start with a 1/2 teaspoon.
I haven't had to do it since a few months post op because my daily coffee takes care of business.
My Sleeve bestie does Metamucel, but it never worked for me.
Yeah, I'm taking a BUNCH of stuff to help right now. Sigh.
I can't do the husks, they don't sit well and they add too much bulk. In theory, this cleanse just liquefies everything which is what I think I need right now. I did do a half dose of milk of magnesia this morning and that helped.
I sometimes forget to keep an eye on it when things get busy, so it's my own fault for not realizing it until it was too late.
******g pain pills.

I am down today but my real accomplishment was a completed day of clean eating. I have been struggling with bingeing lately and have regained so my goal was to get clean eating back in place. Already I am feeling my restriction better when I eat protein first and absolutely no carbs other than milk for my decaf tea.

Nice work Paula! I know de-carbing isn't easy! Keep it up!

Thanks Fiona, it is amazing me how quickly I am feeling my confidence come back. All carbs are gone from my home and I don't plan to bring any back (other than veg and some milk****il I am back at my goal. I have to do groceries this weekend and I can already see it, put something wrong in the basket, take in out in the next aisle, repeat, etc. etc. I think the store walkers/security cameras must think I am a nut case but I walk out without the wrong things as I am mindful the whole time I am shopping. No run, grab and go.
I have a monster sweet tooth, and pre-op, vacations were ALL about the food. Last summer my husband and I were on a long road trip, and he often likes to get ice cream or some kind of afternoon treat. I packed my protein powder and ninja blender, and with a bit of almond milk and ice I could make soft serve - worked like a dream. I also carry a very small bottle of sf syrup - the kind you put in coffee. An iced coffee with some of that in it works well for me as also.
