149.4
I fell into a mini-pity party for myself this weekend. Ate some stuff, that I had no business eating. I'm back on plan today. Decarbing and turning to veggies.
Kids are getting closer to being ready for camp. My son is freaking out a little. He doesn't sleep well and needs all kinds of props (books, music, etc) to get to sleep sometimes. He's worried that he won't sleep up at camp. I told him that at some point, he will because their schedule is crazy busy.
You all have a fantastic day.
151.0# this morning. I'm down 1.8# from yesterday. Life is good...having lunch with a friend today and meeting with my women's group. Also, going for a bike ride with my hubby. I love having summers off!
On another note, trying to do without my PPI and looking for natural alternatives. Anybody else doing this? My one year is coming up and will talk to the surgeon.
I was able to get down to 1 prevacid at night. But, I haven't tried to get completely off it yet. When I cut down from two a day to one a day, I experienced some killer reflux for about 4 days. Then I was fine. Luckily, I'd read that reflux can get worse for a few days after coming off the PPI.
What natural stuff are you going to try?
I have been trying to get off my PPI after 4.5 years as well. It's tough but I'm finally off of it! What I had to do was to step down to Zantac 150 for a few days and then start weaning from that. It's been 11 days since I took a Prevacid and now it's been 4 days since I took a Zantac. I feel pretty good. Drinking constantly helps. I think I'm past the rebound reflux now.

Yes, unfortunately these drugs cause horrible bounce back reflux and it's actually hard to tell if the reflux is real or bounce back. I mean I was put on it prophylacticly immediately after surgery so the only to find out was to really try and use other drugs as a step down. Lucky for me it has worked and everyday I have less and less reflux. Now, I'm not gonna lie, there were a couple days last week when I didn't know if I could do it. But drinking and chewing gum, of all things helped tremendously. The osteoporosis side effect of these drugs was what propelled me to try and get off it. That really scares me as I'm approaching menopause. Hope you can eventually get off it too!

175 today. Right at the top of my range. Taking some carbs on board this week in prep for the race on Saturday, so with getting hydrated and carbing-up I'll be at the top of my range until post-race, where I expect to be at the bottom of the range.

155.2 - just fine for now.
Back from the surgeon visit (finally). Double lumbar fusion scheduled for July 31st. Came home and managed to convince myself that I needed oatmeal cookies (I'm constipated, after all). Sigh. It's okay. Onward.
Hopefully, they can get me into surgery sooner if there's a cancelation. Shrug. I knew this was coming, but it doesn't make it easier. He's a great surgeon and he's brutally honest so I, of course, asked if my weight was the cause and he said that while it wasn't the only one, yes, it is the biggest contributing factor. BUT, I lost it so good for me. No looking back.
