Hi everyone

Sorry I've been absent. I was sick again.

So my white blood cell counts are in the tank, which is why I've caught every bug in the known world lately. It doesn't appear to be sleeve related; low white counts can be due to B12 or folate deficiencies but those numbers are absolutely stellar as were all my sleeve related labs. Not anemic, as my red blood cell counts are fine. So it has to be something else. But what? Could be a lot of things, some scary and some not, but I just want to stop being sick all the time.

Anyone every know anyone who had low white cell counts NOT related to chemo or vitamin deficiency?

Weight is on track, btw: 137.8 this morning.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

Viruses, autoimmune, and bone marrow issues are the only thing I know that cause low white blood cell counts.

Sorry, you are still getting sick. I'm glad yo are making them figure out what's going on.

Take care and I'm glad you are back!

I was wondering about you. So glad to hear you are doing well, but sorry you are sick. I don't know anything about blood counts, just wanted to say hello and offer up a hug.

I've also wondered about you Mom.  Glad to see you but bummed you've been ill.  I wish I had advice for you but I'm not in the medical field and always have to refer to my medical encyclopedia for info.  Offering sympathy and cyber (((Hugs))) to you.  I hope you find an answer and get better soon!

Hi Mom,

My post about bariatric interviews got flagged on the VSG board, though I don't know why...and I cannot seem to PM you...I was wondering if you were still willing to be interviewed? I was hoping to do a phone interview if you're up for it? It generally takes between 30-45 minutes and I can email you the information to make sure it is something you'd like to do. I am really interested in the experiences of those of us who are past the first year post-op. :) I was hoping to start the interviews next week through the June if you're interested still.

Thank you so much, Angela Geraci 619.980.1333 [email protected]
