Daily Maintenance Weigh-In - Sunday, April 21st

So, yesterday I spent the day with my family at Six Flags. When I got home I was struck with this photo and I look like a normal mom out with her family. Totally weird. My legs still look like sticks compared to the rest of me though. LOL!

Not weighing today. My legs and back are swollen and I just FEEL it and I'm feeling a little odd today, I think if I weigh and it's up more than a few pounds, I'm going to lose it. The swelling is probably from some junk food I ate yesterday (totally planned, it's okay). But yeah, being kind to myself today.

Today is exactly 22 months. 223 pounds lost. A WHOLE lot gained. I'm sure I'm going to hit goal (2 more little pounds) by my 2 year mark, which is incredible that my goal is even 150!

So, the photo:

Super cute Candy!  You look like the quintessential family :-)  Is it just me or does your son look like you and your daughter looks like her dad?  It looks like a good time was had by all.  I think your legs look perfectly proportionate to your body (none of that looking "like sticks" - I don't see that at all :-).

Congrats on all the amazing progress so far.   Not a lot of people could go through what you went through and come out on the other end smiling, looking the way you do on in the picture.  You're a true warrior, my friend!

Yeah, my daughter definitely looks like my husband's family - she's the spitting image of my sister-in-law, actually. It's kind of weird and creepy she looks so muchl ike her, but both are beautiful. And, yes, my son is definitely my side of the family. Quirky attitude and all. LOL

Thanks, we are our own worst critic right?

I will survive, darn it. I'm not looking forward to back surgery, which is highly probable this Summer, but I'm looking forward to losing the pain factor. I'm sick of it now - and the damned medications too. Hydrocodone is for the birds.

The pic is great! Love the hat - it adds a level of coolness.

Sorry about your back and the swelling. I've got some back issues going on myself and they are minor compared to what you are going through, I'm sure. My heart goes out to you. Back pain just SUCKS!!!!

Edit: And your favorite ride was???????

My fave ride there is Poltergeist... it's INSANE and underrated in my opinion... Hubby really likes Goliath, it's pretty sweet too. We skipped the coasters this time since the kids are anti-coaster, but we had a great time none-the-less.

150.4 - been eating off plan this weekend. Will be back to it Monday.

I'm having my first ocular migraine of the season (allergy season that is). Fun. But, as far as migraines go, it's not the worst thing in the world. Just annoying because it messes up my vision for 20-30 minutes.

You all have a wonderful day.

Migraines SUCK. Mine usually last for a few days, put me in the bed with all the lights off and wishing for death. HUGS. I haven't had one in several months, thank goodness! xoxo

Meant to say that I love the pic of you and the family, but I couldn't read the words I was writing. It's all good now.

It's funny, not, funny haha ... but I was talking to my chiropractor last fall and I asked him why I get this weird wavy vision impaired things for about 20-30 minutes, then a small, pin-point type of headache for about 1 hour, then it's gone. He told me that they are called ocular migraines and in the headache/migraine family, the ocular migraines are the "best." They don't last long and aren't really painful at all. I can still mostly see, but I have had to pull over a couple of times. He said they usually have to do with hormones, but mine are definitely related to allergies.

I have an appt with a new eye doc in June and plan to talk to her about it. I've had these migraines for years, they just sort of come and go. One more weird thing about me.

There's really nothing I can take. I just sort of wait until it's gone and then I go about my business.

You look great!

Just arrived in India - 2am here - hit the hotel room scale and I'm at 175 - top of my range, but after a week in Paris, I feel pretty good about that.  I'm under coach's orders to eat more carbs to (a) build some leg muscle and (b) prep for my 100 mile ride in a week.  I figured Paris was about the best place on earth to do that :)

So... I'm happy.  I can still see my ribs, and my legs seem bigger after a week of some carbs and workouts/walking to burn many of them.  I was worried I'd put on 10 lbs and panic.

Candy, you and your family look wonderful ! Glad the day went well. Chronic pain and the meds that go along with it suck big time. Surgery is never pleasant, but if it can take care of the problem, then it may be worth it in the long run.
