Hi, I'm Cat. Just joined this group. Went through almost all the other groups to find an active one and no one has posted in weeks, months or years. I hope that I'm not intruding.

Soon I am going to Mexico to have a VSG. I wonder if any of you would care to share your experiences with me? I haven't chosen where exactly I am going to get it done or who is going to do it yet.

I am in the middle of trying to close on the sale of my house. Going to invest some money in my health and get my weight down. I have had trouble with my weight my whole life. Been up and down. Currently I'm 290, 5'5". Now my knees are so bad from carrying this weight that I can hardly walk any distance because of the excruciating pain. I haven't worked since November 2012. I have been furthering my nursing degree since Dec 2011 and will be finished in a few months. Hoping with getting my weight down as I finish school so that I will be able to get a good job with insurance so that I can eventually get my knees replaced.

I'm hoping to find some support here as I go through this process.

Look forward to making friends,

Cat

Try the Main VSG Forum, it's VERY active - www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VSG/

My biggest piece of advice is to read, read, read, read and read some more there.

I didn't go to Mexico so I can't help you there, but the sleeve is the best thing I've done for myself and the lives of my family. I won't lie, it's hard hard work, but worth every minute and every cent.
