VSG Maintenance Group
new to maintenance group
Hi everyone! I'm joining the maintenance group too (in addition to the VSG group) in the hopes of learning how to, well - maintain! I hit my doctors goal of 150 a few weeks ago and feel absolutely great. Trying to learn now how to maintain and don't want to mess it up. BUT - I've reset my personal goal and would like to go to 140. I am now at 148 but trying to lose it slower while adding back a few calories. I've added 100 a day to start with and it seems to be working okay. Staying between 800-900 calories right now with less than 50 carbs and 70-80 gms protein. Still logging and now working out on an elliptical when I can't walk (due to weather). If anyone has any suggestions, tips, tricks or facts on maintaining they want to share I'm more than open to listen. I'm going to start reading back posts in this group and look forward to learning even more than I have before from great veterans like you all!! Thanks
Welcome to the dysfunctional support group. They rock - I fit right in ;)

Welcome PrettyEyes_41!
When I achieved my doctor's goal weight for me, I switched to maintenance and started adding calories back in. I very slowly went from 600 cals to 1200 cals, but that took weeks (maybe even months). After about 3 or 4 months in maintenance, I had lost another 10 lbs without trying. So I think you're doing the right thing. I'm about 16 months out from surgery now and I'm still tracking both my food (on MFP) and my daily weight. I'm not as willing to do the tracking these days as I used to be, but I do it anyway :-) I find posting my daily weight on this board keeps me accountable.
Good luck, and again, welcome!
