VSG Maintenance Group
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! ...
Hi All!
Don't know if any of you remember me. I am NOT a vet nor have I even had surgery yet. I've been trying to get approved for the surgery for over THREE years! I've been turned down several times for a variety of reasons. The last time I tried to get approved, I was very positive here on OH, started making plans, etc. Then I got turned down AGAIN for a stupid (in my opinion) reason. I was angry and very discouraged. I stopped coming to OH, gave up sticking to my food plan, etc. Then I broke my foot (a lisfranc fracture) and THEN I hurt my back and horrible spasms for over a month. I kept thinking I should appeal the most recent denial, but felt too discouraged to even bother.
A few weeks ago, my initiative started re-asserting itself. I am very stubborn and don't like to be told no, especially if I think I am right. I submitted my last available appeal before it would have had to go to an independent review. I pointed out how they were wrong and I was right (diplomatically of course).
Today I got a phone call that they approved my appeal!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it's finally happened! I have studied and read so much about every aspect of the VSG from eating to various issues to menus, to maintenance that I kind of felt like I was a veteran.
Next month, God willing, the REAL journey will begin.
Wish me luck and thank you for all your support and kindnesses over the past three years!
Anita.

I had a health issue that needed to be resolved before I could get my VSG, and I remember how excited and thrilled I was when I was finally approved. Good for you! Always remember, the weight loss phase is pretty easy, but maintenance can be a ***** Or at least it is for me. Congrats, and good wishes!
