Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Thursday 2/28
Hi Mom! I haven't stopped in here in a while. We have been insanely busy and it is wearing me down. That and being cooped up in the house together 24-7 when we aren't on the run. I am finding it harder to resist some foods. I need me some spring! Actually I am maintaining between 135 and 137 so that is a good thing. For some reason maintaining with my sleeve is somewhat easier with my sleeve that with my band, even if I go off the rails.
Exercise has bee tough to get since mine is mostly walking and Michigan is not conducive to doing that right now but I get it when ever I can and as March progresses it will get easier. Plus I won't have to go out looking like a bag lady wearing my whole wardrobe to keep warm!
I think tap dancing is a fantastic idea! It would be great weight bearing for your bones, and increase flexibility and balance which change a ton as we age so starting early will help there, too. Plus, it just sounds like a ton of fun! Go for it!
I have an endo tomorrow afternoon where the surgeon will stretch my sleeve back out to desired size and itf needed (they sometimes do) he will schedule another right away to make it stay open. With that my protein intake will be much better because I will be able to tolerate more solid food, especially dense protein. I am looking forward to eating in a relatively normal manner. This being stuck and vomiting stuff is just plain discouraging.
Hubby has had a ton of appointments lately dealing with his Alzheimers and getting him started on meds. All his other appointments; diabetes, foot doctor, sleep dr., etc. have me running, too, since I have to be at them all. It appears that at this moment we only have one more next week between the two of us but who knows what will crop up. It gets tiring getting around, driving, and then being uptight by the time we get home. He usually has a downturn by late afternoon so if we have been gone that is it as far as anything getting accomplished. Frequently at that point he wants me nearer to him so I can either go to the living room for the evening or try to get some house work done while being called in there frequently. As things simmer down and the weather improves I will be able to carve out more "me" time but right now it is a challenge.
With all of that it is even more important for me to get as much protein and veggies, etc. in or I will crumble and my health will fail so the endos are even more important right now.

The Alzheimer's is hard for the spouse - hard for everyone. My dad refused to go see a doc even though we were all pretty sure he had it. Last spring he FINALLY went in and started the lowest does available of the medicine. It helped him so much that last fall he went on a higher dose. He still struggles with memory things, but he can now get entire sentence out. He waited too long. Hubby and I drove our kids, my dad and step mom (she's wonderful) out to Washington DC last summer. Two weeks all in the same vehicle. It was stressful, but it went really well. I'm so glad I got that time with him.
Take care and let us know how everything turns out.
Good to see you.
I find that checking in every day helps keep me accountable and on track. It's as much checking in with myself (how am I doing) as it is checking in with others.
Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
178.4 this morning. Lots of salty foods yesterday, so I'm feeling good about the weight, as it may be a tad lower in actuality.
Mom, you'll have a ball taking a tap class! I love taking dance, and there's so many people of all ages doing it, that at 58 I don't feel like I stick out. The exercise is great, and I enjoy the social part of it too.
159.0 - still up a bit from pre and post half marathon.
Things are getting back to normal and once my parents go back home to Minnesota the hubby and I will have our routine back! It feels good to get back to some of my old workouts without such an emphasis on running all the time. I am training for a 10k in April but that is much less intense (for me anyway). I have signed up for another half marathon in August. While I will be training in the Texas heat for it the race will be in Vancouver, B.C. - so, looking forward to that!

100.6 lbs today.
It's so beautiful out - I want to play, play, play!!! Instead I have to work, work, work and study too. Boo!
Mom, I hope you take the tap class. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Today is my fifth day without having a Quest bar. So far so good. My cravings seem to have ratcheted down a bit - not totally but just a bit. Enough so I'm not freaking out, anyway. My carb consumption as a whole however, has gone down to an average of 50 or 60 carbs a day, and the goal was to get to 80 eating complex carbs. So, I'll have to find a way to improve that number today.
Have a good one all!
