My anniversary came and went

I was so busy yesterday with company that I forgot it was the 3 year anniversary of my "Sleevie Wonder".  I was reminded when I checked e-mail this morning and had  a happy anniversary e-mail from OH and realized I haven't been on here for a while.

What a 3 years it has been!  After losing 165 pounds, my life has changed so much - all for the better. At 10 months out my DH and I took our kids and grands to Disney World.  I'm telling you I think I had more fun that the 5 grands!  I rode all the rides and walked for miles.  It. was. wonderful.

At 18 months out, my daughter, DIL and I went zip lining.  What fun!  And I don't like heights.  Checked that off my bucket list, which has grown since I lost the weight.  I want to do it again.

In the fall of 2011 my DH and I took a road trip throughout the SW States. I walked trails at the Grand Canyon and other national parks.  I had unending energy.  I wore out my poor DH, who sat on the sidelines while I took some hikes.  In the past, it would have been me sitting and waiting for him to return.  The Grand Canyon was on my bucket list.  Check.

During 'Grandma Camp"last summer I took the grands to the pool daily.  And yes, I was right in there with them.  I took them to the park and I played on all of the equipment right along with them.  They took a picture of me going down the slide.  They thought it was pretty cool that grandma was doing that.

This past fall, another bucket list item checked off...  Hawaii for 10 days.   Went snorkeling.  Check.  Took a helicopter ride  (check)  and saw actual active lava flows.  Check.

Our kids and grands are planning a trip to Cancun in the spring of '14.  Can't wait!  Need to check that bucket list and see what I can check off while there.  Swimming with the dolphins maybe.  Couldn't do that in Hawaii.  They don't hold dolphins in captivity.  Didn't see any while snorkeling, but went on a dolphin boa****ch and saw lots of them....oh and a couple of whales.  Check.

I walked a 5k last spring and have signed up for it again this spring.    Check.

I exercise daily. Did water aerobics last summer.   Walk outdoors when weather permits. Otherwise, I go to the fitness center. Three days a week (at least) I go twice a day. I also take jazzersize aerobics twice a week.  I have a mini trampoline and jump on it while watching TV.  I don't enjoy exercise.  But I LOVE that I can do it, so I do.And I always feel better for it.   I'm still in awe when I see myself in the mirror doing aeroblics. Is that really me?  Can't be.  I was in denial when I weighed 306 too.  Didn't believe that was me.  I like this way better.

Well that's my life in a nutshell after VSG.

So thankful to OH and all my peeps here.  Your strength and encouragement throughout has been greatly appreciated.  Not sure I could have done it without you!

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

What an awesome post! You are an inspiration, particularly for someone like me who is a little older. Living your life to the fullest - that's what this is all about.

Well Hi Vera!  How have you been?!  I don't get on here very often now either, but decided to check in on my anniversary.
