Question - When you get sick?

I have had a gastroenteritis all week and have been home from work per my Doctor.  It seems like about one a year I get something like this, I am other wise healthy, whereas pre surgery, I tended to get sick fairly often.  Ok, every time I get sick now, there is a pattern.  Last Wednesday, Thursday, I started getting really bad indigestion.  I am on 2 Nexium a day, but it was not controlled at this point, but I felt fine otherwise (I should have known something was coming as it always starts this way).  I was still able to eat pretty well, but slowly up until Friday night, when after a few bites supper came back up.  Still feeling fine.  Saturday a few pains in my tummy, thinking after affects from the vomitting, kind of tired etc.  Saturday nights supper seemed to come up twice.  Sunday I had a fever, headache and was tired.  I've been the same all week.  Small appetite, which is unusual for me.  Started feeling better Thursday, lost Friday's supper again.  Low grade fever on and off the whole time.

I got up this morning at 8:30 and fell asleep from about 9:30 to 12:00.  I know I'm going to survive, but every time I get sick even with a cold, my stomach slams shut.  This is way different from pre wls and I'm curious if anyone has a similar reaction and if so, is there anything you've done to get better a little faster as I'm on day 9 now.

Thanks Diane, I've been to my doc and he had something similar that lasted almost 10 days, its just that with a sleeved stomach, I think my reaction and possible treatment may be a little different.  In a way I think its better as the vomiting has been much less traumatic, but maybe lasts longer?  I'm going to try bland everything and lots of liquids, but this is getting old, lol.
