Greetings From Nunavut
Hi everyone,
A special thanks to Pura Vida for letting me know about this group. I'm just past the 1 year mark myself and am doing well.
Maybe not as well as I would like to, but I think each of us are our own worst critic and maybe set our expectations too high? In any case,a little about myself:
I started off at 401.5 pounds last Feb, and today am 246. I think I'm doing pretty well but having a hard time exercising where I live because of the bitter cold and lack of facilities. I do have a treadmill in my apartment which I use 5x a week and a few pairs of dumbbells which I use every 2nd day.
I'm really looking forward to the summer when I can continue on my long walks/runs outdoors.

People say things like "I want to lose X pounds by Z date. Is that realistic?" and I always want to say "lose X pounds? Sure. By Z date? Who knows?"
We can't control the timeframe. We can only do the best we can do and then the timeframe is what it is based on our age and metabolic rate and how much we are willing to do before we go a bit mad.
