Funny how reading my own post clears things up for me.

Protein bars ARE the problem.

I am looking for a crutch to get me through some stress instead of using other tools to handle the things that are stressing me out.

Okay, back to basics - again.

Except when hiking I avoid protein bars other than Quest bars, which I use as a fiber and a protein. However, I can easily only eat one and I know some folks can't. During loss I actually cut them in half and had half a bar each day.

Probably best to stay away from protein bars completely for now. If you can't moderate them, it may even be best to avoid them in maintenance. I still have a few absolute no-go foods, and one (bread) that I only allow myself in a restaurant if they do some kind of special bread.

Yeah, the protein bars are my crack. They have been since the beginning. I've lost count how many times I've had to get rid of them.

Of course, I justify the protein bars by saying that I *need* something fast and easy.

I don't like Quest bars all that much, which really makes them a better choice for me. They are the bar that I can cut in half. The other ones, not so much.

I want goal more than protein bars, so I will refain...again...from buying any.
