Daily Maintenance Weigh In - Thursday 2/21
Good morning!
Today's weight: 136.6
Had a serious near miss at work yesterday. A big, heavy 12' x 10' steel framed sliding gate came off tracks and fell on me. Wrenched my shoulder, doesn't feel like anything serious and nothing showing on X-rays. If it's not better in a week they'll do some soft-tissue scans, but I expect it will be. Meanwhile, no lifting for a wee****il I go back for a follow-up.

Ooh Mom, sounds like you had a wonderful time yesterday - NOT. I so hope you heal fast and there's no lasting problems. Take it easy!
179.7 this morning - 3rd day in a row at the exact same weight. I've eaten my "light" breakfast and had my coffee w/ my indulgence of a little hot chocolate. The clear liquid diet kicks in at 10am. I know I'll be fine with no eating for 1 day. What is a little disconcerting is that I'm supposed to have non-diet fluids - juice, jello, etc. The small bottle of cranberry juice I picked up has 2 servings with 60 carbs - yikes! The only way I can get through each glass of sludge I have to drink is to have a couple of sips of cranberry juice, or I'll gag it up! The pungent taste of cranberry juice helps to take away the taste of the sludge. I guess one day of extra carbs is okay. I certainly know that I won't be gaining any weight today!! :)
Trust me, you will not gain weight unless you go wacko, since the sludge will clean you out quite well!
I still think that there should be rules about small single-serving containers being labeled as multiple servings. I was looking at some protein bars and stuff in the store the other day - most of them are way too full of sugars and such, but occasionally you find a good one so I look at any I haven't seen before. There was a protein brownie...front of the package says 20g of protein. Back of the package says 170 calories and 10g of protein per serving, 2 servings. One brownie. They are hoping people will see the 20g of protein on the front flip it over and see the 170 calories and not look any further. It's flat out deceptive.

No way I can go wacko after about the first hour of drinking the sludge. If memory serves me, I will be chained to the bathroom for the next several hours with my jug of sludge and my bottle of cranberry juice, praying to the gods to make it stop already!!! LOL Gotta charge up the Kindle so I can watch a good movie or read a good book! My poor family is going to have to suck it up and hold it as long as they can, as we only have 1 bathroom!
I agree with the deception of the way things are marketed. Before I started wearing reading glasses all of the time (and well before WLS), I used to have a slice of what was labeled as carrot pound cake, but it was more like a bread, with my coffee many mornings. With type II diabetes, I did try to keep carbs in check. The amount of carbs was about within my allotment for breakfast, and the fat and calories weren't too bad, so I justified it to myself. Not long ago I decided to look at the nutritional labeling with my glasses on. Major OOPS - the amount of carbs, calories, and fat was for 1/2 slice! The whole thing had about 60 carbs, 20 grams of fat and over 400 calories! I was smuggly eating the whole thing - no wonder I kept gaining weight with oops like those!
Mom glad you are ok ! Please be careful. My dad worked in a warehouse and used to get all kinds of bumps and bruises.

Thankfully I have an office job, so my shoulder doesn't put me off work. I go in and out of that cage all the time to label international marketing materials as to what order they ship with...moving that heavy gate is the only thing I'm restricted from doing and I don't mind that in the least.

Oh Mom! Take great care. OUCH.
Up 1.9 - eating salty foods at 1am for some reason. ( as if I don't really know )
And then today was making some bark I think it is called. You know, it is basically fudge but thinner and full of nuts etc. for a gathering. And so at 5am I had three pieces. Delicious! and there was no reason to eat it. Was not hungry. It just plopped into my mouth.
I am scared. Totally scared about this lack of control. Eating at night and now at 5am.
The rest of the day starts right NOW and am off for a 6km walk. With liquids for the rest of the day. That should learn me!!!!!!!!!!
Have good one everyone and for those who are going to get hit by the storm be safe.
