Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's weight 137.2

Hubs got me a tiny package of dark chocolate covered almonds because he knows I can moderate them but like them a lot. We just do 'it's the thought' gifts at Valentine's Day. He has something planned for dinner tonight (he does the cooking at our house) but I have no idea what.

149.4 - it stayed under 150. Fingers crossed that it sticks.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

A bouquet of flowers from the hubsters. He is awesomesauce with a cherry on top. We'll open cards with the kids tonight. We usually keep it simple.

Happy VD Everyone.

Last night I made caramel, strawberry, cherry, and cranberry filled chocolates for DH and a Red Velvet Cake for us to share today.  I will have one piece, he will have the rest!

The strawberry sauce I made for the chocolates was really decadent - Baileys Irish Cream, confectioners sugar, and fresh strawberries.  Last year we did chocolate pasta with Strawberry Bechamel for dinner.  But he has to work tonight so we are doing the sweets and things at lunch.

I will be baking again tonight.  I have a neighbor who is transgendered and is feeling particularly overwhelmed right now.  Some neighbors don't talk to her anymore, her ex-wife left her with the kids (she jokes that she never saw herself as a single mom when she was a little boy), and she has a long distance relationship with an out of town girlfriend.  Her GF is coming in for the weekend, so I am going to make my 1 to the fourth power rum-raisin pound cake with a chocolate glaze for them as a little gift to let her know not all the neighbors avoid her.

If I can't eat it - I can make it!

I don't see how you continue to make all this decadent stuff. I'd be doomed!

Geez! I'd look like a serial killer if I was anywhere near your kitchen. I'd have chocolate and raspberry dripping from my hands, my hair - because that's what happens when you dive head-first into a pot of confection (I won't tell you how I know).

LOL - quite an image!

Last night didn't test me too hard.  The night before when I made the caramel sauce (Mines very simple - cream, sugar, butter), that was the test.  I could eat that stuff like soup with a spoon!

I think I like baking the cakes better than the chocolates personally.  For some reason cake just doesn't tempt me they way the chocolates activate my carb monster.

Cookies are my tough thing to bake. I'm completely willing to live with 2nd degree burns to eat them the moment they come out of the oven.

Those chocolate thingys of awesomeness would get me, too. I'd totally pull an Augustus Gloop on them.

Happy Valentine's Day!

179.2 today - going in the right direction.  Still battling the constipation a bit, but I've upped the fiber and drank some Smooth Move tea last night.  Will do the same to hopefully avoid something stronger, which is not fun!

All the goodies described sound yummy and decadent!  I picked up a couple of chocolate lollipops for the kids, and usually get a little something for DH.  Cards and flowers for the girls, as well.  My birthday is only 3 days prior to V Day, so usually we've tried to keep things low keyed.  I got a beautiful pair of amethyst earrings for my birthday, so I'm usually content with the small remembrances on V Day.  We cooked a roast pork loin last night, but it was going to be done late, so we ate leftovers and will have the roast tonight.  Little one has dance until 5:30, and bed by 7:30, so not lots of time for celebrations.  Have fun all!

Oh right, it's Valentine's day today.  That means "food season" is finally over - yey!  For me, food season begins on Thanksgiving and ends on V-day.   I used to wish I could hibernate like a bear from the end of November to February 15 just to avoid the hoopla.

101 lbs today.

Have a good one, all!
